We keep giving the Gordon a chance and continue to be disappointed. In the past we've just tried drinks and snacks from the bar, generally with poor service and lackluster quality. Thinking maybe it was the more dynamic characteristics of a bar, we thought we'd make reservations and try a sit down dinner. We remain unimpressed. I'd noted in Open Table this was for a date. We went early - 5:45 on a Wednesday - with happy hour winding down. I arrived first and was seated in a back room by myself clearly meant for private gatherings rather than the dining room. There was a large table set up for a larger group coming and three four-tops. The space did eventually fill, including with the large group about four feet from us who turned on the TV. This is not a huge space. The other two four tops were in and out quickly, but we'd hoped to "dine". It felt like we were somehow crashing the larger group's party. The cocktails and food were ok (the Brussels sprouts were particularly good), but nothing special, particularly given the price. I had halibut which was slightly overdone and a very small piece for the cost. The cocktails, even getting the first one in on happy hour, were spendy and not particularly balanced. I know prices have gone up for things, but we eat out a lot and are fine paying for a good meal, but this was not it. There are plenty of other places in town with similar price point and much better quality and quantity. Despite trying to be otherwise, this just feels like a hotel restaurant where a captive audience is assumed. The one high point was that our server was great. She was working hard taking care of us and the larger group. Otherwise, it was a bust. We won't bother to go back again. For the price, the overall ambiance, the food, and the whole experience, there are much better places to go in town.

Food was ok. Requested a booth but was told they couldn't sit only two people there. Five minutes later and with 2-tops available, they sat a couple at the exact table I requested.

We liked the entire experience: easy reservation, quick seating in a comfortable area, quickly attended by a pleasant and well informed server, with well presented and excellent tasting food items at a more than reasonable price. Both my wife and myself had the braised short ribs on polenta. The coffee crème brûlée was outstanding.

Everything we ordered was good food, very tasty, nicely presented, with generous portions and a reasonable price point. Service was good given it was very busy. Even better than the past few times we've eaten here.

We made reservations for six people to celebrate a birthday. Our table was ready and in a quieter section of the restaurant. We were early and our server was not on shift so someone else kindly took our order for drinks. The menu selection was varied, providing something for everyone. Our server was really great and attentive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. This was a very pleasant experience and we already look forward to returning.

Dinner was very well prepared. However, we ordered an appetizer that came right after we were served the main course. The restaurant was crowded, so I am sure the kitchen was slammed, but we still should have received our appetizer a lot sooner. Otherwise, all was good.
