   Overall very good and we would go back for sure. The bucatini the citrus salad and the homemade dessert was excellent. The service was very good and so was the vibe. Only disappointment was the calamari bruschetta which tasted ok but was way overpriced for what it was. Overall…a great experience. Oh and the drinks were very good too.

   Fabulous time with family (including a 14 month old who loves to dine-out with great food and doesn’t interrupt other diners)! Everything was great—-terrific service , the host of dishes we experienced, perfect presentation of each food and the smoked old fashioned, wonderful wait staff and management, super clean bathrooms, and please visit the market!!!

   The experience at Gioia is always a great one, especially since they have their own parking lot in the very busy Wooster Square area. My friends and I ordered the Salumi and Cheese platter, beets, cauliflower, and meatball appetizers. We decided to split two desserts: the sticky toffee pudding and the almond torta. The best bites of the night were the anchovy yogurt sauce with the cauliflower and the sticky toffee pudding (it’s SO good). The mocktails are also special, DELICIOUS, and a very good surprise feature on a large drink menu.

   The roasted chicken is the sole reason to come here. That is the only thing that’s good that we ordered. The pizza is not good at all. The dough is similar to plain white bread with a hard crust and sauce sweet and not tasting authentic. The appetizer portions/small plates were just that for too much money. This is more of a college joint than a place that belongs in little Italy of New Haven. For 6 the bill was over $500 with tip included.

    Delightfully interesting menu. Tasty pear cocktail at good price. Large portions on entrees so half portion of pasta was perfect size. Nice service.
