Rising from it's sister restaurant in Downtown Dadeland, Ghee Wynwood continues the Ghee legacy at it's original home. Ghee means PURE and has a symbolic meaning both spiritually and in the kitchen of an Indian home. The restaurant encompass traditional Indian home cooking, ingredient driven using local artisan purveyors.

The service was slow, and the food was ok, nothing to blow you out of the water.

this is a big place and is very well decorated and has good ambiance. we tried their tasting menu that includes 13 dishes. we started with papaya salad and that was very good. samosa chat was average. Raw tuna was surprising as this is not part of any Indian cuisine, complete misfit and also not very good. i guess if you have a restaurant in Miami, you are obliged to serve raw tuna or tuna tartar. dosa was very good and so was crispy broccoli. our main course started with chicken tikka masala that was not really chicken tikka masala but was normal and ordinary chicken curry and so was Kerala Lamb. we had to send Hanger steak back as it was cooked rare. it was good when it came back as medium well. Nan is another story. I am not sure that they have clay oven as the naans they served had grill burn marks. we had asked for crispy naans, and they came out real soggy. we ordered Qorma that was not include in the tasing menu as that is the holy grail of north Indian cooking and not many restaurants offer this specialty. whatever they served was something with beef that cannot be called traditional qorma at all. there was a chunk of meat in some creamy sauce but was nowhere close to Qorma. the story continued with kheer. it had strawberry jam on top. this is not way it is served in any part of India. we were really disappointed as we had heard so much about this place that has its own vegetable farms, and they serve their products and wanted to eat genuine Indian food. In summary, the best dish was papaya salad, and we repeated the order.

Was sadly rather disappointed after looking forward to finally hoping to find a truly authentic and interesting Indian restaurant which ,there are few and far between in Miami. The place is beautiful but was rather empty with only a few tables occupied. Apart from that loved the idea of the 13 dishes for $75pp served in small dishes enough for two people, as opposed to individual menu items in order to test the food out. However, being of Indian origin was extremely disappointed in the food. Apart from the papaya salad (which was great) the other dishes were I guess created for the American introduction to Indian food. The broccoli for example was too tomatoey and even the simple dosa which was minute to be shared was tasteless. I for one was extremely disappointed as was my very American guest who knows true Indian food. I wish the restaurant well but a repeat visit would not be on the cards

Consistency in dishes prepared is very key to attract repeat customers. Ghee needs to work on that. I think they get that.

Great food with great spice. Garlic naan was delicious. Chicken tandoori and lamb dishes were great. Service was friendly. Very nice open restaurant that doesn’t feel cramped. Nice looking inside. Even the music was good and volume just right so you can comfortably have a conversation. Prices were decent. Would highly recommend.

The tasting menu was amazing highly recommended. If you want an even better value go on Monday the tasting menu is $50 for 13 dishes. The Mumbai libre was refreshing and well balanced. The midnight express was garnished with allspice which unfortunately overpowered the senses and didn't let the coffee out garam masala to shine through. The kefir lamb and skirt steak kabob were amazing. The strawberry balsamic rice pudding was the best rice pudding I have ever had. The sticky date cake was a huge disappointment the cake was dry and crumbly which should be hard to do with a date cake. The ginger ice-cream it came with was great as was the jasmine caramel. Overall amazing as there were so many dishes so only 2 misses wasnt bad. Will visit again when I am in Miami. Also a great place to go before a show at the concert hall or arts center easy pick up for Uber.
