Gazala’s Restaurant is the creation of Chef/Owner Gazala Halabi, who celebrates her culinary heritage as an Israeli Druze. Hospitality is a Druze hallmark—guests are embraced and welcomed with a flavorful meal. Says Gazala, “I want my restaurant to be a place to eat Druze food, to sample Druze culture and be treated like family. It is a little slice of my village on Amsterdam Avenue."

The staff was very friendly and responsive. The special: whole roasted branzino was excellent. The arugula salad was very good. The Chicken Kebabs were a bit dry and overcooked. We enjoyed our dinner there and will return.

Every time I eat here, I ask myself “why don’t I come here more often?” The food is delicious, the portions generous, the service always pleasant and the ambiance totally unpretentious. One of the best neighborhood restaurants on the upper west side.

The food is outstanding, the hummus and tabbouleh is the best we’ve ever eaten, we went there two nights running.

The place is to be avoided at all costs- the atmosphere is horrible - the place requires deep cleaning - it falsely presenta itself as middle Easter- the food will make you sick - the staff is horrible- worst experience ever

This restaurant never disappoints. Outstanding food, great wine, knowledgeable, and attentive servers. Foul madamas, artichoke hearts, labenah, just some of my favorites!

Poor tasting food. Falafels had too much salt, rest of the dishes too less. It took 30 mins between the first and last dish to be served

The artichoke appetizer was excellent and our salad was nice a crisp. Then we ran into a service issue as it took an amount an hour for our main dish to arrive. Seems they had a very large party in another room who arrived just before we arrived. The waiter apologized and we were rewarded with an excellent free dessert. Our chicken main dish was delicious when it arrived. Everyone has a bad night so will be back for another try.

Food at this Druze restaurant is wonderful and the service is attentive. Loved the foul moudamas as well as the wonderful array of hot and cold mezze, served with wonderful, thin form of Druze pita. But pricing seems out of whack even if the portions are generous, vegetarian appetizers and some main courses, in particular. I think they need to reevaluate their pricing, particuarly for appetizers.

Dinner at Gazala's was terrific and our server, Bryan, was super friendly, helpful and generous. It was a quiet night (very cold outside, which likely kept most people home) so it was quiet and very comfortable. The food was interesting and delicious, the prices were reasonable and the portions very large (we took a lot of food home).
