Gavroche Chippendale is your little corner of Paris in the heart of Sydney. It brings not only classic French cuisine to Sydney, but also an accoutrement from the culinary epicentre of the country – like an imposing oakwood entrance from Lyon’s venerable Brasserie Georges, brass-railed banquette seating, oversized carved wooden bar and hand-painted tiled walls for an authentic Parisian experience.

    The resturant is beatiful, a very intimate and elegant space, the food was amazing too, we tried the Le Petit Degustation and every plate was full of flavour, the portions were right for a degustation menu, the wine was very good as well. The waiters were very elegant and friendly. Overall a great experience, I recommend it 100%

    Lovely restaurant service was amazing, very polite. Food was delicious, apart from a couple of dishes that didn't hit the mark. Snail dish, having had snails at other French restaurants these ones not so good. I wouldn't try again. In the desert menu the Crêpes with orange sauce wasn't that good. Apart from that everything else was amazing, the atmosphere was great, loved it. We are definitely coming back and I would recommend it to anyone who likes French cuisine. Overall 5 star experience.

    The food at Gavroche was absolutely delicious, the scallops and steak frites were exquisitely cooked and my wife was blown away by the quality of the peppercorn sauce. For desert, the crème brûlée and the chocolate self saucing pudding with raspberry sorbet were equally excellent and perhaps the finest versions of these we’ve ever tasted. Service was pleasant, quick and appropriately attentive. The only downside was the cost of the steak frites, $68 for steak and fries with a pot of sauce is pretty expensive. We’d have felt more comfortable if it was around the $55 mark.

    One of my favourite French restaurants. The entree of scallops was delicious, as was the duck. Good selection of cocktails and wine.

    We visited the restaurant just after watching a French movie so really enjoyed the French vibe and music. Food is average but the mussel pot and liver parfait are pretty good. However both the tenderloin and steak are quite salty; and the truffle mash just probably the worst one we have had in years. We came a bit late so the French beer in tap is all gone. I listened to the recommendation of the waitress and ordered a French bottled beer but when it came from the imprint on the bottle we found out it’s Italian. We confronted the waitress and it turns out she is unsure. Lack of product knowledge, incorrect recommendation, no regret, no apology - very impressed with her for the wrong reason.

    Absolutely amazing. Everything was great from the word go. We ordered the food expecting the portions to be small as they usually are for fine dining. By the time we were done we were so full we couldn’t eat another bite. The food was probably the best French food I’ve had and I’ve eaten at around 10 or so French restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne. We had the scallops, bay bugs, duck, baguettes, fries, salad and the French onion soup. It’s well worth visit. I’ve read the other reviews and based on my experience can’t understand the low star reviews given how attentive the staff were and the quality of the food. We will definitely be back.

    Everything was up to standard for a Parisian style restaurant in the heart of Central, Sydney. The waitress serving was very nice and asked me if everything was good. The only "issue" I had while being minor was that the scallops I had weren't seared to their best potential. Only the edge of the scallops had a nice sear and there wasn't that nice gold/brown colour near the middle. Other than that, food and wine service was fantastic!
