First timers to Frog and Slim and will definitely be returning customers! Took advantage of Dine Downtown…couldn’t have been more pleased with our selection to go here. The food was delicious and delivered as ordered. The service was impeccable. And the atmosphere was casual, yet elegant. It was hard to hear our server and each other most of the time as the place was hopping and lots of conversations were being had in a fairly medium sized room. Didn’t ruin our night or experience. Would definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu that we admired from afar. Coming from someone who worked in hospitality and owned a business, the owner (who we didn’t know was the owner at the time), was heavily involved in both the front and back of the house. Before he left for the night, he makes it a point to come around to each table and thank them for coming. And also check to see everything was going well. That speaks volumes about what type of establishment he is running and the pride behind his passion. Bravo!

My husband and I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant while in Sacramento for a family wedding. We were immediately taken with the jazz-themed vibe, from the contemporary wall art to the sounds of classic jazz wafting through the speakers. Just our kind of place! It was a Sunday evening right after the Holidays so understandably quiet. Even so, one got the impression that prompt, efficient and friendly service is customary at Frog & Slim. Our engaging server, Jessa, was very attentive but we never felt rushed. And the food was delicious. We each had a different salad followed by the steamed mussels in wine, which were juicy and delicious. It's a little on the pricey side, but for a downtown eatery with a select menu we felt we got more than our money's worth. Highly recommend.

The staff, seating, and food are fantastic. We had several items including the pork shank and the lasagne and they were all very well crafted. We will be back.

My wife and I are foodies and love trying new restaurants. We had Broadway tickets and decided to try frog and slim before the show… It was a great decision! Our server, Alysha, was knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely attentive. She truly enhanced our meal experience! We thoroughly enjoyed the hamburger and octopus that we ordered for our entrées. Additionally, we also had soup as an appetizer, which was also equally delicious. We met one of the owners, Slim, who was extremely humble and grateful for having us there… We truly felt appreciated. As we observed the restaurant, all the employees seemed happy and eager to help all guests…It was a great feeling. Although this was our first visit, it definitely will not be our last. We look forward to coming here again very soon.

Perhaps my favorite restaurant in Sacramento. The dishes are always good, the service excellent, and the owners very friendly. My only “complaint”is the background music (classic jazz) could be louder!
