----------

Frevo is a creative take on contemporary cuisine curated by Brazilian chef Franco Sampogna and Portuguese restaurateur Bernardo Silva.

The exclusive 16-seat counter, concealed by an art gallery, offers an intimate dining experience where the open kitchen overlooks the chefs' work. The menu follows the seasons and evolves continuously, as does the art gallery, which showcases a new exhibition every three months. Two tables accommodating up to four guests are also available for an even more intimate experience.

Frevo is recognized with one MICHELIN Star and awarded four out of four stars on the FORBES All-Star Eateries list. Chef Franco Sampogna is also part of the Best Chefs in the World 2024 selection and a finalist for Best Chef in New York State 2023 by the James Beard Foundation.

From the OpenTable editors: Tucked inside a Greenwich Village gallery, this MICHELIN-Starred gem is where you go for equally artful French-forward dishes from James Beard semifinalist Franco Sampogna. Inside the intimate, dimly-lit space, a gleaming open kitchen is a showcase for Sampogna’s seasonally changing tasting menu starring the likes of Norwegian langoustine with capers and kanpanchi with jalapeños. Don’t miss exciting wines from the organic-leaning list curated by Quentin Vauleon, named France’s Best Young Sommelier in 2017.

Great spot but they forgot that it was my GFs birthday! Food was decent but nothing astounding.

Our dining experience at Frevo was truly exceptional. Both the food and service were outstanding, and the wine pairing elevated the meal to another level. Every course was beautifully executed, showcasing both creativity and precision. If I were to offer one critique, I would suggest that the black truffle agnolotti—offered as an additional option at $55—be included in the overall price of the tasting experience, as it feels like a natural complement to the already expensive menu. (235$ per person) Additionally, we were mistakenly charged $70 for a sea urchin supplement in one of the courses, that we hadn’t requested. However, once we brought it to their attention, the staff handled the situation with the utmost professionalism and promptly removed it from the check. Overall, this was a memorable and refined dining experience, and Frevo remains one of my favorite Michelin-starred restaurants I have tried.
