Mia Francesca features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio. It was one of the first restaurants in Chicago to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, simple, rustic cooking, friendly service, and fair prices.

Waiting for a table at the beautiful antique bar is part of the charm of Mia Francesca. The plush upstairs dining room and lounge can be reserved for private events, as can the more intimate coach house tucked away behind the restaurant. In the summer, al fresco dining is also available on a charming cobblestone terrace.

    Fantastic drinks, food and service at this convenient location on the corner of Lincoln & Touhy! Don’t miss the access from the parking garage directly into the restaurant…no need to go out in the rain or snow from your parking spot! Try the focaccia… thin, crispy, full of creamy cheese and topped with spreadable honey… YUM! The filet special and white fish were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Kaitlyn & Cindy’s service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Decor is trendy and has a fun vibe with 1/2 an old Fiat sticking out of the wall. Lively atmosphere without being obnoxiously loud. Give it a try!

    Our first visit to the restaurant. Food and service were top notch! Just a touch and the noisy side, but the main dining room is very large and the place was packed since it was a Saturday night. We’ll definitely be going back.

    Plusses: A terrific location, attached parking garage, a very nice limoncello-based cocktail, an attentive and sweet staff, yummy bread and very enthusiastic birthday song. Unfortunately these assets didn’t totally make up for a mediocre beet salad, which needed some goat cheese or a stronger dressing, in my opinion, and a bland rigatoni with vodka sauce. I noticed that our dining partner left a half his pasta dish too. That said, this was our first visit so we’ll probably try it again.
