   We had a lovely visit for lunch. It was very busy but staff were very friendly. Food was very good, although we had the rump steak which we couldn’t eat. We did mention it to the waitress. Despite this I would definitely return

   Had an exceptionally good lunch today. The bistro was nicely decorated for Christmas, with crackers on each table and little Santa hats on the bottles of wine. The staff were very pleasant particularly the young man who served us. He was very friendly without being overbearing. The food was first class. This is my third Xmas meal and it was nice to get a break from Turkey! I had a goats cheese starter and crispy chicken stir fry Korean style for main. I enjoyed every mouthful and can recommend both. It’s very well priced at under £20 for two courses and a varied men7 that should suit all tastes. I can’t wait to go there again. Well done Fig & Thistle.

   Menu was limited and quite expensive but the food was delicious! My husband and I enjoyed it although we were sat in a small tight fitting wobbly table at the window! My husband had to get extra napkins to put under the table to stop it from wobbling! The table seemed dirty and it was covered in what looked like candle wax! The table has been booked for several months so it's not as if we just went in by chance! The waitress was pleasant enough but not really very attentive! I had brie, husband had haggis bon bons to start, then I had crispy sweet chilli chicken (delicious so tasty) with noodles and stir fried veg, hubby had duck which he said was lovely!
