Moore, the beloved, Chicago-based, chef, has manifested a vision of elevated Southern cuisine in a Northern city where the bulk of the Black American community has direct Southern ancestry and roots. Soil was rich and ready for the unique warmth of his ideas. The opening team of etc. has created a space, menu, beverage program, and flow of service that is simultaneously down-home and adventurous, and as intriguing and challenging as it is familiar Our mission is to bring a high level of experience, taste, and cocktails to the loop/printers row, family-style and without any pretension.

Join us Tuesday March 25th, for an unforgettable dinner with a side of community impact. Chef Lamar and ETC will be hosting this evening in collaboration with Next Door Dinner. The night will consist of a special 4-course dinner and craft cocktails and wine will be available for cash at our bar. All profits from this event will go directly to Gyrls in the H.O.O.D, an organization supporting black girls in Chicago with reproductive resources, social support services, and sexual health education. Come for the food, stay for the, make a difference while building community. Doors will open at 6:30 PM for drinks and mingling. Dinner will be served family-style at 7:00 PM We hope to see you there!

Great food and customer service. Second time dinning here. Came for brunch and everything was really good. The blueberry lemon pancakes and the breakfast sandwich was delicious! I would go back.

We had an outstanding time at ETC. Dre, the chef, went out of his way to make sure my wife’s gluten allergy was accommodated both during dinner and dessert. Dre epitomized the type of chef and thoughtfulness we all want in elevated dining experiences. I had the oxtail and my wife, the lamb. We shared the catfish dip and a salad to start. I had the banana pudding for dessert and Dre concocted a coconut rice pudding my wife. We enjoyed everything we ate and will definitely be back. Cocktails were great as well.

From the moment we walked in & were greeted, the service was friendly, welcoming, & enthusiastic. Cocktails were great. Every dish was delicious & soul warming.

It’s gorgeous inside. I had the burger, truffle fries, spinach & artichoke dip. Everything was pretty good. The portion size for the fries were really small. The menu isn’t huge so it’s probably best to look before you go. They also told us we had to leave like 15 minutes before our 2 hour reservation was up. We were almost done but I’ve just never been rushed out before. Despite that, the service was really great.

My best friend and I had the pleasure of visiting recently and our overall experience was wonderful. We were running a little behind on our reservation and called in advance to alert the staff. We were more focused on getting in and catching up that we missed the opportunity for pictures 😊. I can however assure you that the vibe was a great one. The location is great, we loved the ambiance, the crowd was chill, and the music and atmosphere was nice! The food AND drinks were amazing! We particularly enjoyed the Catfish dip with the crackers (we ordered extra crackers, they were so good). I would definitely recommend anyone looking to enjoy a great bite to eat, with awesome drinks and a nice chill vibe, coupled with great customer service. We look forward to visiting again!
