   Had a great experience at Elske. Food and service were great. However, we were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and unfortunately there was no recognition despite having added it to the reservation notes. With a place of this caliber I would’ve expected some form of recognition or special birthday element. I wasn’t expecting a free dessert or anything but just a simple ‘happy birthday’ would’ve been a nice touch.

   Typical pricey Michelin style menu and restaurant. Not outstanding or super groundbreaking but good. Dining room feels cramped in seating but strangely empty too..? Glad to try it, but don't think we'll go back.

   We admittedly bring our nine year old son with us wherever we eat. The night before, we spent our dinner at Ever where he - with great manners and adventurous eating spirit, and despite it being unique to a kid his age, Is super accustomed to high end dinner nights with us, he has a food blog - and adored Ever's nine course high end gourmet "weird" foods, no complaint, with joy and made conversation with the staff. When we came to Elske it was also to celebrate my husband's 50th. Setting aside the frozen cake , which wasn't properly defrosted....the food was fantastic. However, our server Chelsea was uninterested in engaging with us (everything on the menu is good when asked her favorite), insured her four tops were serviced (yes their bills are Likely higher) vs our three top (despite us over ordering to try the full menu breadth) and unwilling to be personable, and basically ignoring our son whom she clearly didn't feel belonged there. (Especially when the one "request" we had was for a non alcoholic menu and noting they had a "juice pairing" , i asked what juices they had were only offered coke and sprite.) overall disappointing since we flew in from Texas for this, paid well over $100 a head and really wanted to get the full vibe of this concept.

   Excellent innovative food. Quality of the wines for the pairing option is very low but, amazingly enough, they taste quite well with the meal. Still, they should offer good wines to match their outstanding cuisine. Our waitress was amazing, knowledgeable while not overdoing it, and attentive to provide good service to us and surrounding tables Great job !

   Service was good. Too loud. Tasting menu food was awful and we are pretty adventurous. We boxed 80% of the food to then throw away. Not worth the amount charged. Cocktails were good.

   We were celebrating our anniversary and Elske exceeded our expectations not only with their food, but with their service and kindness. They made accommodations for food allergies and were one of the best meals we’ve ever had.

   We had an excellent meal last night at Elsske. It had been some time ago that I went. There were two of us with an early reservation before a concert, which we let staff know in advance. Cocktails ( one "Stirred" and one "Shaken") hit the spot. Due to timing we were not able to enjoy the Chef's menu, so ordered ala carte. There are just too many excellent choices. The Cheese plate as well as the anchovies proved to be excellent choices. Both were nicely plated, very nice portions and excellent starters. We tried the Leeks vinaigrette and the Halibut with bosc pears. Both presented beautiflly, well prepared and portioned. A shared dark chocolate custard proved to be perfect finish. Service was top notch and matched our timing needs more than adequately. Elske continues to be a top choice in Chicago for an excellent meal, with Danish inspired dishes that always makes me wish I could have ordered one of everything. Chef's Menu allows for this kind of sampling if you have time.

   Enjoyed the tasting menu along with the wine pairing. The halibut dish was excellent and the Eastern European flavors and inspiration shine thru elegantly. Would return for another dinner.

    Food was heavenly. Monica served us and made it so much fun. Part of “The Bear” was filmed there.
