Nestled in the serene beach town of Encinitas, our California Bistro and Natural Wine Bar offers a mix of traditional Spanish flavors with a modern Mediterranean twist, complemented by an exquisite selection of natural wines. Menu favorites include the Maitake Mushroom toast and tahini "aioli", our Green Chile Burger with gruyere cheese, and our locally sourced blue fin tuna crudo with citrus vinaigrette. We play a mix of Brazilian funk, late 90's hip-hop, and French pop all through our vintage Marantz receiver and JBl speakers. Our dimly lit cozy restaurant is ideal for date nights and post-surf hangs.

What a gem! The food was delish! Only thing I recommend is don't sit outside if you are looking for ambiance...it's a courtyard by a very popular ice cream shop.

Really good food and great service. Super friendly wait staff and very attentive despite it being super busy. Food was delicious, we got the yellowtail sashimi which was super fresh and had great flavors. The pork chop and steak were amazing as well, will definitely be back here!

The food and wine choice were delicious. The pork chop and sea bass were excellent, as was the Cesar salad and bread course. We had a hard time hearing each other over the music and chatter but otherwise great night

Our first dining experience at Echele what delightful. The wine list seemed limited but properly curated, the food was tasty and well prepared, the service reasonably good and the noise level quite loud but manageable. The Caesar salad, bread and corn butter, tuna crudo, street corn and entrées were excellent. Our second visit six weeks later was a disaster. We were seated a table literally 12 inches from the front door. The noise level, which we measured, was 80 dB, considered extremely loud and dangerous to the human ear for any but a brief period of time. The service was… Terrible! It wasn't our waitress's fault, she was personable, knowledgeable about the menu and worked hard. But we counted only two waitresses and one bus boy to handle some 60 people inside and some 10 outside. Grossly insufficient for the number of tables and people. But ultimately, our rating is based upon the food and wine. We chose a French Bordeaux which sold for $68 on their menu. Vivino listed the customer retail price of that wine for $9.99. In my view, that's an indefensible and absurd mark up, especially since the wine was simply horrid. Our party of four chose the bread and corn butter, Caesar salad, meatballs, duck confit, gambas/shrimp, sea bass, broccolini and papas fries. The Caesar salad was traditional and tasty. The warm sourdough bread with corn butter was delicious, and the duck confit was aromatic and a worthy effort, but overcooked. The meatballs were even more over done, dense and dry, and were returned. They were kind enough to offer a credit for that item. The local Seabass, swimming in a cilantro garlic marinade with roasted tomato, which sounded great on the menu, was too acidic, and completely overwhelmed the fish, which was so overcooked it fell apart on the plate. The gambas were cooked perfectly, but were obscured by its accompanying sauce. Our two visits yield it to entirely different dining experiences. I doubt we'll return.

Lovely evening. Almost everything in the menu is spicier than you would expect. Also all the dishes came out one at a time even tho we thought we were ordering vegetables to go with our mains. A little odd but still nice.

We had such an incredible experience. We ordered everything the waitress recommended and she was right on. The mushroom toast on levain bread with the tahini hummus was amazing, the iberico pork chop was perfectly seasoned. Can’t wait to go back
