Originally opened in 2005, Garrett Harker’s flagship restaurant has reopened its doors just up Beacon St. only three blocks from its original location. Eastern Standard continues to offer seasonally focused New England interpretations of classic brasserie fare, including raw bar and charcuterie, nostalgic favorites like steak tartare, baked rigatoni, steak frites, and butterscotch bread pudding, and some new soon-to-be-instant-classic dishes. Cocktail legend Jackson Cannon has crafted a beverage menu that features an array of craft cocktails both new and classic, a curated selection of wines, and craft beers from near and far.

Why they're an Icon

From the OpenTable editors: Acclaimed brasserie Eastern Standard is back and better than ever at the Bower complex. Snag a seat at the oyster shell-inspired bar or in the mahogany-decked dining room for longtime favorites like the baked rigatoni and roasted bone marrow, plus the same showstopping cocktails that earned the restaurant accolades from Esquire and Tales of the Cocktail.

We went here before a concert we were going to at the house of blues. We sat up at the bar and we had an amazing meal and the bartenders were great. I love the new restaurant. It’s very French brasserie style. We tried the carrot ginger soup, which was amazing and we had the steak bavette Which I highly recommend.

We made a last minute reservation. It was a chilly night and their comfort food offerings were perfect to warm our taste buds and tummies. Wonderful staff. Terrific food. We hope to return on our next Boston trip.

We came in the night after Thanksgiving night and the restaurant was still fairly busy. It's much easier to park in this area when there's not a Red Sox game going on, and the service is more normal than when everyone is going to the game. I'm much happier with Eastern Standard in their current location and then when they were on Kenmore Square. Glad I returned, and compliments to the architect for a beautiful and acoustically pleasing environment.

The service was great. Food was meh. The entree was over salted, and overall, not worth the price.

Not one to complain but wtf! Super over priced thanksgiving dinner. Apps where better than dinner but not good. Dinner came out cold, turkey was dry mash potato’s had no taste. My wife had the fish which was the only mediocre dish, even steak wasn’t cooked well. Service was so slow it took 3 hrs for 3 courses. Can only compare it too the old eastern standard and unfortunately it’s not even close. Would recommend steering clear of this spot!

I was served a vegetarian version of what I had ordered, and the vegetarian version was not even on the menu. no one could explain why there is no meat in my rigatoni and they didn’t take it off my bill which they should have. The service was very slow, even though it wasn’t very crowded. I must say I was disappointed to spend all that money to walk away, unhappy. It has the potential to be a great restaurant, but the menu needs to be at least twice the size of what it is.
