   It was a good experience to eat here. Came out with my family, and they enjoyed the food and music from the DJ. The service was really good, and the server always made sure that we were good. Will definitely be coming back again.

   The drinks were delicious. We had the red peas soup which we enjoyed and will be back for.‘The jerk ribs and escovich snapper were absolutely delicious. Fish was fresh, and nothing was overly spicy. The veal be was comfortable and fun.

   Amazing establishment. Food was just mouth watering . Great place for a date night or just a girls brunch . We had an amazing waitress who took care of us so well . Owner was sensational as well. This place is a must !

   We had been to Dunn's River once before, on Valentine's Day. My wife, who is West Indian, warned me that West Indians don't necessarily care about your time table when it comes to service. The service was indeed slow that night, but not horrific, which is how it was last night on New Years Eve. We made a 630 reservation and arrived at 615. The restaurant is quite small. Maybe 12 tables or so. There were a couple of open tables but we were waiting until 630 to be seated. We ordered immediately with hopes we'd be out by 8 or 830. By 730, we had only received our appetizers. The restaurant was now half full. What we did notice was the massive amounts of pick up orders at the bar. By 8pm, we still hadn't gotten our dinner. Our waiter was repeatedly blase each time we asked what was happening. Ultimately, he blamed it on an order of 'mini lamb chops'. Tables next to us had come and gone. My West Indian wife with all of her West Indian patience was furious. To me, with obviously not enough staff to serve efficiently, the problem was the kitchen and restaurant seemed to prioritize take out orders instead of us in house diners. That, coupled with a lack of empathy or sympathy or any related emotion by our server simply made us feel foolish. At 8:10, we asked for a check and left. We paid for our two appetizers and two drinks. There were no apologies or any seeming regret on behalf of our waiter. Shame on this restaurant. We made the effort to come out early on a special night and they could care less. A table next to us who are 'regulars' said the service is always slow, but not to the extent of what we experienced last night. Either way, I could not in good conscience ever recommend this restaurant. And, we'll never give them another chance.

   A hidden gem in Rockville Centre! Food and cocktails are delicious! Such a positive vibe with Caribbean music bringing us an island feel. It was a great Friday night date night with my husband. Our server Alexandra was friendly and attentive without being over baring. She made us feel welcomed and special. Thanks Alexandra and Dunns River Lounge for a lovely evening. We will be back!

    I always enjoy coming to Dunns River. The music is good, the food is amazing and it’s the only sit down Caribbean experience that is top tier compared to the normal hole in the wall establishments with the plex glass separating the customers. Home run for date night. My only wish is that the music isn’t so loud all the time. It’s so hard to have a conversation. I stayed away from Friday & Saturday and picked a weekday date night thinking it would be a quieter background noise kind of night. Nope. We were still shouting at each other. After our meal we ending up walking around in the rain so we could hear each other lol. Something to consider for management maybe.
