   DUNE is one of our favorite restaurants in Fort Lauderdale/Lauderdale-by-the-Sea area. The menu has creative, delightful choices and the atmosphere has a classy urban chic vibe but is very casual. The wait staff is very experienced and professional—we were particularly charmed by Alia’s service on our last visit.

   Love Dune but they need to turn down the AC. It was freezing inside. Your shawls did not help.

   I was taken back as soon as I arrived with the lack of enthusiasm from the hostess. We were walked to our table, the place was an ice box ask if we could move outside, she said there were no tables out side. Moments later a table comes In they say it’s freezing can we go outside and same hostess puts them outside, even moves there table outside because it was to there liking. Food was sub par. I eat at a lot of high end restaurants I wouldn’t put this in that category. Food was tasty but portions were small and flavors were so so. Would not return. That’s a short summary I could go on and on.

   New Years Day lunch was lack luster. Service was poor from initial experience with hostess. We have dined at Dune several times. This was the worst! Food was not great and for the price it should be incredible.

   New Year’s Eve early seating was wonderful. We ate all the appetizers and desserts, all over the top. For the entrees we had two of the three (Halibut and Scallops) which were wonderful. Exceeded our expectations. Glad this high caliber place is in our neighborhood.

   I am giving this restaurant the worst rating bc I got there and a very rude woman was there at 3:50 pm. We made a RSVP through Open Table and it was confirmed. When we arrived the woman said it was not possible that we made an RSVP bc the restaurant was setting up for NYE 24. We showed our confirmation to the woman and she just said it still was not possible even though we showed her our RSVP confirmation. Then she basically stared at us waiting for us to leave. She was not friendly or apologetic. She acted like it was our fault. We spent $20 on an Uber ride to get there. The other woman that was there could not help us. It was her first working day there. They made an error. What they should have done was block all RSVPs that day on all RSVP platforms, but they didn’t and that is why it was possible to book an RSVP. The woman had no empathy and was rude to us. If she were nice and empathetic I would be more understanding, but no excuse for her horrible behavior. ): I think the restaurant should be nicer to their customers especially when the restaurant is at fault.

    We had a 830 reservation sat down at 9:30 to be told they were out of 5 choices we wanted then they said the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes. Very disappointing to one of our favorite restaurants. I do t think we will be coming back this season
