We had a nice birthday dinner party at Draper Brother's Chophouse. My ribeye was wonderful, and I think everyone enjoyed their drinks and dinner. The whipped ricotta was good, but like seriously it was only served with like 4 slices of bread? Also, while our server was attentive, the service and food preparation was slow. And I was asked to close our bar tab even thought we were literally sitting next to the bar. So I left a $50 bill for the bartender to close the bill for 2 drinks. I had to ask twice for the change. It was annoying. I mean is it just me, or is a 90% tip now expected for 2 drinks?

It was a wonderful evening and the service was impeccable! My walleye was cooked to perfection. Thank you, Jack for the wonderful table with the view of the capital and for going above and beyond. Thanks, Kerry

The steak was perfectly done! The drinks and desserts were excellent. The seafood pasts tasted fishy so was not my favorite. Service was good!

We (a couple) decided to try Draper Brothers during Restaurant Week. This was our first visit to this restaurant. Although there were several people at the bar, we were the first to be seated in the downstairs dining room. As the hostess handed us menus, she explained that the restaurant was fully booked for the evening and that, because of this, it was important that we not linger over our dinner as our table would be needed for the next round of customers! We immediately felt our presence was an inconvenience and considered leaving. We had a delightful and efficient server. We started with the house Caesar salad which was tasty though it had no hint of anchovy. The croutons were surprisingly uniform in shape and color and lacked any flavor other than of toasted bread. We both agreed that they must have come from a box. The plating of the salad was unimaginative. We both had the tenderloin main course. The beef and jus were tasty and the tenderloin was perfectly cooked. The vegetable accompaniment was properly cooked and the mashed/whipped potatoes were smooth, light and flavorful. One of us had an ice cream sundae and the other the chocolate torte for dessert. The plating of both was uninspired--the torte portion was generous but served on such a small plate that it hung over the plate edge. The ice cream sundae flavors were satisfactory. The chocolate torte was rich and tasty, but the accompanying raspberry sauce suggested that it was spooned out of a jar of preserves and placed without much thought in a heap at the side of the torte. OVERALL IMPRESSION The comments of the hostess regarding wanting us not to linger were off-putting and, we thought, inappropriate. There are other, more subtle ways to move a dinner along. Food: Starter was nothing special. Main course was tasty and perfectly prepared. Desserts were very good but plating was without imagination. Will we return? Perhaps, but certainly not on a night that is fully booked!!!

We had a fantastic experience! My wife had the seafood rigatoni and I had the bone-in filet! Both were excellent!! Our server, Madison, was also fantastic! What a great place for celebrating our anniversary!

Limited menu for restaurant week but we were not advised until we arrived. The seafood pasta was bland and seafood was overcooked. Steak was fine but nothing special. Wont be back anytime soon.
