   Had a nice relaxing family brunch today- the patio area is lovely, the servers were friendly and professional and the food was good. The only slightly off dish for us was the avocado toast- the “toast” was a croissant which we thought was a bit of a strange decision since it doesn’t have the texture one usually seeks in a toast. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles and the mango panacotta. Value: the price for some dishes was a bit more than expected ($42) for a lobster omelette, but most dishes were in line with other DC restaurants. Appreciated that the server told us that an 18% service charge was already included in the bill. We will definitely come back to try the dinner menu and another brunch.

   Burger was dry, chicken sandwich was flavorless. The Cornish hen dish was also devoid of flavor.

   My waitress Denisz was excellent, she was able to explain the special menu and took care of me as a waitress should do at most places.

   Our server was nice, but the quality of the food wasn’t great. My duck was overdone and flavorless. The potential for the ambience is there, but most of the lights were off, and it felt like the place was shutting down. Won’t be recommending to others.

    I love this restaurant. I particularly like the fact that the location m, inside the Viceroy hotel, where there is an artist gallery. Each time I dined at The Dovetsil I could check out the local artists. It’s a wonderful indoor/outdoor space!
