DOPO, meaning 'after' in Italian, is an intimate dining experience in the lower level of Elizabeth Square on the corner of 34th Ave and 18th Street in Marda Loop, Calgary. Inspired by D.O.P, its predecessor restaurant, on Canada's Top 100 three years in a row, DOPO has been reimagined by Executive Chef, David Leeder and Owner, Tony Migliarese. With strong opinions from Mamma Rose, of course.

    Eyes closed with every morsel one consumes. This is my ideal spot. ♥ From the ambience to the people, the liquor to the panzanella...there is not an imperfect item to be found. My heart arrives excited, and leaves fulfilled every single time. Glad to have you back dopo :)

    The restaurant is below ground which gives it an intimate feel when you arrive. The servers were exceptionally friendly, even when they point out you had a 2 hour window for your meal as each table is flipped 3 to as much as 5 times a night. You might think this means a quick and inexpensive meal. It will be quick but it is not inexpensive. The wine list prices are high, pasta ranges from $33 to $66 for the evening lasagne special. The Hamachi starter was maybe worth the $28 but everything else seemed way too pricy and nothing was outstanding.

    The food was absolutely delicious. It reminded me of the food my husband and I just had in Italy. One of the top Italian restaurants I’ve had in Calgary by far. Would not hesitate to come back.

    What a wonderful evening! The food was stellar and the space captures the DOP vibe. So welcoming and alway feels like a family get together (in a good way!)

    What can you say about this place that hasn’t been said? Clearly it’s just amazing, the new location is charming beyond heck (although tough to find at first!) Super cozy space, friendly and informative team members and nice to see some new adds to the menu. If you’re able to get a reso then GO!
