   Have now eaten 3 times, the first was okay, second good but this last one the mains were terrible. All had fish and chips. The fish was all batter and the small amount of fish was over cooked (chewy), the chips were just about okay. We have decided that will be our last visit.

   A nice venue but the restaurant could obviously not cope with the full dinning room a very long wait for food. Which was mediocre when it arrived. Staff were friendly and polite. We wouldn’t go there again

   We have no hesitation in recommending The Devonshire Arms. We booked for Sunday lunch and chose the festive menu and the experience was 5 star from start to finish. The surroundings were stylish and tastefully decorated for Christmas, the service was prompt, friendly and thoughtful and the food delicious. We certainly hope to return.

   Great Christmas meal here and we all felt it was really good value. We mixed the meals - some chose from the main menu and others had the Christmas menu - it was great that we did not need to pre-pick what we wanted. The only downside was the service was very slow but we could see the kitchen had been incredibly busy. The waitress, Sophie was super attentive and really personable and friendly. Would not hesitate to eat here again despite the slow service.

   Main course was lovely, my starter was not great and the food did not all come out at the same time which left guests waiting and food going cold.

   Very disappointed in the Ultimate Triple Decker and how £12 could be charged for 3 slices of cold lightly toasted white beard, no other bread options offered, with slices of boiled egg, slices of cheap chicken roll, two slices of tomatoes, bacon and two lettuce lettuce leaves with mayo, nothing else on the plate, nothing ultimate about this offering.

   We waited for over ten minutes at our table before I had to ask to place our order. The waitress made us feel like we were a nuisance for asking. We then waited for another half an hour before the food arrived (steak sandwich and steak and ale pie) the mash had a skin on it and the pastry for the pie was too hard to eat. Part of our order was missing, and when I queried it, it was still not brought to the table. It was a meal for my mum's birthday and I am very disappointed with the service of one of the waitresses and the food. Meal for 2 people, after lunchtime during the week

   Overcharged as deposit paid on booking was not refunded when paying the final bill. Very forgetful waiting staff, maybe a pen an paper should be introduced when training, as this would help them remember what customers have ordered.

   Fantastic food, great quality, the flavour of the food was delicious it was not over cooked or under cooked,the menu was good,and the price was good,the service was fantastic we did not have to wait to long for the starters then mains then pudding,what I mean is that we were not rushed but not keeped waiting, when the food came out we were surprised how much there was, the portions were just right.

    Lovely meal with my wife in very pleasant surroundings. Nice staff, good food with a good variety from posh sandwiches to standard pub grub to more unusual selections and reasonably priced. Would have no hesitation of visiting again.
