   We liked the look of the menu at Detour and thought that we would give it a try sometime. We were disappointed with the restaurant personally. We all felt that the food was style over substance and it was overpriced and something that could be done at home, you have to order the herbivore or omnivore menu regardless of whether you want just to eat the share plates or not. The portion size of the dishes was disappointing again considering the prices charged particularly the herbivore menu which we chose to try which we felt was not worth the money sadly. The service was not good, the waiter seemed determined to rush us through the meal and whisked the plates away before we said we had finished with them, he may be having a bad night but seemed to be not happy too serve us and didn't bother to ask us at length about what we wanted to eat or drink, when we ordered some wine, he assumed that we wanted a bottle but only two of us wanted one glass each so we had too stop him in his tracks. All in all we will not be going back to Detour at all when it opens it's next pop up in Fish Lane South Bank in September 2025 , hopefully other diners will have a better experience than we did.

   Still one of the best restaurants and menus in Brisbane with service and the Kitchen theatre to back it up. Can’t wait till they re-open in their new venue later this year. Definitely going to miss them for the next 6 months.

   A great balance of delicious plant based gf vegan options & interesting meat dishes to satisfy everyone! I love that they’re clean and fresh dishes as well and not greasy. Looking forward to our next visit!

   We always love coming here – the atmosphere is warm, the service is great, and the food never disappoints. The pumpkin with honeycomb and emu tartare are delicious! I’m glad you’re doing a pop-up – we have missed dining with you guys!!

   A little gem in South Melbourne. Highly recommend. Extensive wine list, impeccable service. Will definitely go back.

   Long time fans of Detour (Public) so I knew it would be good! Stand out dish of the night was the brisket but all the dishes were spot on. Only feedback was maybe the potato in sea water needed some extra seasoning. Had the set menu with add ons and got some wonderful local Australian wine recommended that was just delicious! Never a miss with this chef/kitchen staff and the owner is a wonder to talk about his journey too! Pop up in a cute little space for only a limited time - go - you won't be disappointed!

   Food wasn’t up to standard and it wasn’t value for money. Portion size was small. I’ve been to this restaurant several times when it was at Gabba and it was great. I was hoping for the same quality and standard but it wasn’t. My friend and I were disappointed. I always support businesses and people I know. Sadly I won’t be going back! Sorry 😞
