   Music was very loud for the venue. 1980s disco. We asked that it be turned a little. It was for a while, then loud again. Impeded conversation. Service was spotty. Was asked if we were ready for food, before asking if we wanted cocktails. Cocktails took way too long to get. Food was pretty good. Suate veggies were delicious. Meatball app pretty good. Entrees overall were good. Need to work on ambience and service, should be ok. A newer restaurant, perhaps still working out the kinks.

   The time was well spent, nothing took to long to come out and everything was hot when it arrived. The portions are good, not a fan of the seating in there but the ambience is still nice. Besides the food, the best part of my experience was my server, Carla, thank you!

   I grew up eating mostly seafood and I know and can tell if its good. First time to dine here. (Its a dinner date). Of the 3 restaurants of our choice, went here. Plus, we live in Gurnee, IL. 5 mile distance is a plus. Anyway, we started with a calamari (2nd choice was grilled octopus). It was tender and crunchy in the outside. And they used new oil. It was a wow… in the beginning. And the bread (that i dipped in olive oil with Cheese was awesome). So It was a good start and was expecting even better for our main meal and sides and deserts :). For our main meal, my wife ordered the HALIBUT Alaskan, with wild mushrooms, For me, I ordered the PESCE AL LIMONE, a Lake Superior Whitefish. We didnt wait long, but we enjoyed our chat and the appetizer (calamari) with our “mocktails” while waiting. We don’t drink alcohol, so we had non alcoholic drinks. Out server, CARLA, recommended a MOCKTAIL. Try it! It cool. Well, our main dish arrived and boy were we amazed and surprised. First, the serving was generous, also, it looks exactly as described in their menus (picture) and bigger than I thought! My wife and I ate 3/4 Each of our selected meal and then we switched. Oh boy, the taste is phenomenal on both And FRESH. The sauces were not overpowering and both my wife and I said the same thing. We can taste the freshness of the fish. It was really really good. I highly recommend both seafood. Was very satisfied. Now the main meal didn’t come with any side (im glad it did not) so we ordered a roasted potatoes and shared it. It was a lot for one person. For desert, we had one ( my wife was already full) OLIVE OIL CAKE and GELATO. Yummy!!!Of course, make sure to ask for CARLA. She knows a lot about the menu and will give HONEST and TRUE recommendations. Plus the owner, chat with us too. Overall, the service was outstanding. We were not snubbed. I noticed everyone were treated well, old, young, dressed well, casual, etc very nice. We Don’t have to go to Chicago for dinner.

   Destino's has been open for a few months and we wanted to give it a try. We had a 6:30 reservation on Wednesday and were promptly seated. We got a nice table in back. Most of the tables were full. Our waitress (Karla) had water and bread brought to the table while we perused the menu. At Karla's recommendation, we ordered the burrata panzanella. Such good tomatoes, especially for December! We also split the Ceasar salad and the short rib ravioli, both of which were delicious. I had a Demon cocktail (again, delicious) and my husband had a Pepsi. We somehow had room to split the chocolate truffle cake and get some Capuchinos. The cake was as tasty as the rest of the meal. Our food was served promptly, and our server was cheerful and helpful in explaining dishes and making recommendations. We don't go out to eat very often but will definitely be back to Destino's.

   Loved it!! Especially our waitress Carla. Even the owner came out to talk with us! The place was packed on a Wednesday night! The salads were so fresh and big portions! My food was hot. Chicken tender (Marsala). Bread hot and fresh, Calamari impeccable! Both pasta dish my husband had and the sauce on Marsala could have had a bit more flavor but overall very good. Pieces of cake too small to share though so everyone should get their own! Also lived the party rooms ! Everyone should try this restaurant!!!

   This is a new restaurant for Gurnee and we couldn't be happier. Destino is an excellent Italian restaurant. I highly recommend the homemade ravioli and grilled octopus. The ambiance is lovely and our server, Carla, was exceptional.
