David Burke Tavern is a modern American restaurant by award-winning Celebrity Chef David Burke. Situated on the first two stories of a stately townhouse on New York City’s Upper East Side, the restaurant showcases Burke’s creative and contemporary approach to classic fare – often with showstopping presentations. Signature dishes highlight seafood, steakhouse staples and beyond, including Lobster Dumplings with spicy tomato, Crab Cake Pretzel Raft, Tavern Cheeseburger, and Burke’s famous “Clothesline” Maple & Black Pepper Candied Bacon, plus a full SUSHI MENU. David Burke Tavern offers dinner, bar and lounge menus, as well as multiple private dining spaces including the intimate Himalayan Salt Room lined with pink sea salt bricks. Private dining spaces can accommodate anywhere from 10-100 guests, with options to reserve floors and the full restaurant.

    Love the hostess and the servers/bartenders. Such a great place for happy hour and to mingle with my neighborhood peeps. Food is awesome. A quaint neighborhood gem!

    Food was good, service was great. Burger was awesome but ribeye quality not worth the price. Wouldn’t go back for steak but maybe for a drink at the bar because the drinks were very good.

    My order was to have been the cheeseburger. That wasn’t what was served. It was some meat with onions cooked into the middle. No cheese. My guest’s salad entree was delivered and eaten before I was served. By that time I just ate it even tho it’s not what I ordered and I still don’t know what it was. Service was very slow with no apology. A very regrettable experience.

    Run do not walk to David Burke Tavern! A delightful way to spend Christmas. The menu was varied and delicious, the cocktails refreshing and thirst quenching, charming and welcoming ambience, impeccable service and great management. A special thank you and shout out to the gregarious and generous Manager, Mr. Michael Moss! The Manager from the other DB restaurant who was there, the charming and affable Brian. And our special hostess par excellence, Lisa! They each contributed to making our Christmas evening unforgettable and so delightful. Our second very special Christmas there!

    Festive atmosphere for Christmas late lunch, but oddly disorganized and lackluster menu. Not sure what happened. This is a favorite spot, but this time it felt like no one had prepared. The food was poorly portioned and clumsily presented—kind of like a local place in the middle of nowhere. And the service was rankly amateur. I felt like a tourist in my own city—you know the feeling when the waiter clearly doesn’t care about your table. Almost humorous.
