   Had a sparkling breakfast at Darleys today. We were very impressed with everything from the waiter the food and even the toilets. Would highly recommend this restaurant. The only little complaint is it was a little cool in the restaurant.

   Excellent venue . First class food and atmosphere, excellent service. Very good location overlooking river, used the rugby club car park which is just a 3 minute walk from the mill complex.

   Having booked for a special occasion and requested a table for four with "panoramic view" of the river we were disappointed to get a table in the corner next to patio doors which, on a very cold day, was used by smokers to go out for a cigarette until we complained about it when a member of staff locked it. The table position meant that two of our party had views of the river while the other two had their backs to the window (patio doors). The table along from ours was a table for two and had the largest window in the place. It would have taken little initiative on the part of the manager to have organised the tables slightly differently to accommodate our request for panoramic views for the whole party. On the plus side, the food was excellent, as was the service of the serving staff.

   Second time attending for the tasting menu. It was excellent and an improvement on the previous year where a few of the dishes had been quite large. This year each meal was of a palatable size and served in good timing. We didn’t feel like we were waiting on the next dish once. The service was excellent with friendly and knowledgeable staff who knew their stuff and explained each dish and answered any questions we had. Handwritten cards for the occasion are a wonderful touch for the experience!

   From walking in to leaving the whole afternoon was beautiful. We’ve been meaning to come here for a few years after hearing many good things and we weren’t disappointed, the staff were so friendly and attentive, and the quality of the food was stunning. I think we’ll be coming here for our special occasions more often!

   Certainly! Here’s a short review: We dined at Darley’s expecting a memorable experience, given its AA Rosette status and a price tag exceeding £300 for two. While the dishes were beautifully presented, the meal ultimately felt like style over substance. The flavors were underwhelming, portion sizes were disappointingly small, and the lack of ambience and atmosphere further diminished the experience. For a fine dining establishment with such accolades and cost, we anticipated a perfect blend of taste, presentation, and setting. Unfortunately, it failed to deliver on all fronts, leaving us deeply disappointed.

   Hi Neil Very disappointed to receive your feedback, especially after on the evening you openly declared that your partner is a very fussy eater and when eating out she rarely enjoys her meal as per. You apologised to our Restaurant Manager, Karlo for leaving early and not having your tasting menu desserts for the reason outlined prior. A totally unfair review that is not balanced, the restaurant was fully booked and populated with mainly tables of 2, which meant the ambience would certainly not be as lively as when we have a proportion of tables of 4, 6, 8 etc. Our apologies in your eyes we did not deliver on this occasion, it certainly was not for the want of trying and thankfully the rest of the tables that dined with us on the evening thoroughly enjoyed their experience.
