Please be advised that the reservation is for the Izakaya on the second floor and not the ramen shop on the first floor. The ramen menu is not available at the Izakaya. The Izakaya, located on the second floor of Daikaya, is a casual restaurant that serves Japanese comfort food to accompany a diverse selection of bar offerings. The izakaya experience is perfect for after work, before a big night out, as a full supper, or for late-night bites with friends. The cuisine is freestyle and adaptive in nature. Each izakaya in Japan puts its own touch on its menu items. The plates are typically small so that one can sample many different items.

Reservation was for 7 pm. It was very difficult finding the door, to begin. Not a big deal bc I needed to get in my steps. The food…I really wanted to love this place but but flavor is lacking. Also, they were out of a lot of things we wanted from the menu. Our server was a sweet girl but also didn’t help much with recommendations bc she was very new. Study up on the menu bc for someone unfamiliar with Japanese tapas, I was on my own. Based on my visit, I would not go again. I hope someone else will convince me otherwise bc I want to like it. The ambiance is nice!

The menu was creative, the selections that I tried were outstanding (apart from the pork belly). The ambiance was hip and cool ,love the nu disco selections that were playing and classics. Comfortable seating and very attentive service.. kudos to the bartender the drinks were amazing- flavor profiles five stars -Will definitely be back and this time bringing friends

Fun and tasty but execution has fallen off. Unfortunately the servers were not very knowledgeable about the food or drinks. Looks like as they have expanded the taken by has thinned out. Fried garlic was our favorite. While good it was not as crisp and well executed as before. Still a fun option near Cap Arena.

On my must eat list for DC when I'm in town. Outstanding food that's very shareable and always delivered with excellent service. Literally nothing bad to eat here!

We came here to celebrate our five year anniversary and Eric B made it incredibly special. Hats off to him for the kind gestures on the house and for the excellent service throughout the night. The food was amazing and quick to arrive. We certainly will be back.

We had a great time and ate delicious food! There are so many good choices for vegetarians, which we lean toward mostly. We will definitely return.
