A family-owned business, Cook St. Helena, is a neighborhood establishment through and through that continues to bring people together around fresh, handmade, delicious food in a warm, casual atmosphere. We opened Cook in 2004 to show the locals and tourists alike that food does not need to be complicated to taste great!

From start to finish, a delight. Intimate ambience, great service, and a delicious meal. We enjoyed appetizers, main courses and dessert - everything was fabulous! Highlights were the porterhouse steak special, pork shoulder, and the pancetta and gelato desserts - superb.

The ceilings need acoustic sound absorbing material or sound attenuation banners in the front dining area. Love the restaurant its service employees and overall attitude. Thanks

We were very pleased overall by our experience at Cook. I had a really nice eggplant parm “sandwich”. We shared a fresh and tasty prosciutto and melon appetizer. My only caveat would be to make sure you order one of the Italian dishes; my husband was disappointed with his BLT because he wanted a traditional not a gourmet version. The special was a risotto with veal and butternut squash which I saw and smelled and wish I ordered. They also offered a hearty looking minestrone which I saw and regretted not ordering.

The food at Cook is always delightful. Today for lunch we enjoyed the mussels, the chopped salad, and cavatelli pasta. While service has always been great, our food came out quite slowly today and after diners who were seated after us received their dishes. We hope this was just a momentary lapse as Cook is our go-to restaurant in St. Helena.

Never disappoints. We have visited Cook three times and always enjoy every bite. Too many great choices on the menu. We especially loved the mussels. Cook is an authentic experience, the real deal with no smoke and mirrors.
