This collaborative dinner, hosted by 2025 James Beard semifinalist Ope Amosu at ChopnBlok, invites fellow “Best Chef: Texas” Houston semifinalists Evelyn Garcia & Henry Lu (Jun) and Emmanuel Chavez (Tatemo) to explore the boundless connections between culture and cuisine. Together, these four chefs —each with immigrant roots—craft a menu that bridges the past and present, honoring the dishes of their ancestors while pushing culinary traditions forward. From West Africa to North and Central America to China and beyond, this dinner is a tribute to the flavors, techniques, and narratives that shape Houston’s vibrant dining scene and the immigrant experience as a whole. In a time when conversations about immigration are often fraught, this dinner reminds us of one simple truth: food unites us all.

    Golden had good mix of heat and flavor. Grilled Marinated beef skewers had a good smoky flavor. Plantain cake dessert was tasty and not too sweet

    Flavor! My goodness this was so good, loved the curry and the short ribs. Not so much the smoky rice. Just not for me. Outstanding food and concept.

    My husband and I like going to the Post location, so we’ve been waiting for the opportunity to hit up the brick and mortar. There are absolutely no complaints from either of us regarding our time at the restaurant today. The food was excellent. The customer service was top tier, and we enjoyed sitting at the bar engaging with the staff. Our wishes are that every customer will have the same experience as we did, and that the owner/owners have continued success in their endeavors.

    Food was great but the service was horrible. Waited 20 minutes and then once the waitress came he had passed me several times. Took so long to order and was got food and drink. He never came back so I asked another waitress to give check
