First visit to Cholon Sloan’s Lake for Denver restaurant week was amazing. Many options for decent bites to try which kept arriving hot from kitchen. Waitress was v patient with all of our questions and even brought out allergy chart since we had some restrictions that she also verified from kitchen. She was super helpful w recommendations on items we were unsure of. (Apologize as we didn’t ask her name). Would love to go back and check out happy hour soon!

Average at best, we had a bad table, the service was okay, the food was not great, everything is fried, at least everything we eat, noisy, it’s basically a bar with tables around. And they add a 6% charge on top of the bill that is not part of the tip. Which makes a bill that is expensive already, more expensive. I feel successful restaurants make a lot of money for their owners, and should be responsible to pay their employees. Won’t go back.

Beautiful space, and many good choices on the Happy Hour menu. The Korean beef skewers were outstanding! The only reason I didn’t give an overall rating of 5, is because the booths were shockingly narrow and cramped. I’m not small, but I’m not abnormally large either. The booths might work better for two people (there were 4 in our party), but that wouldn’t make them any easier to get into and out of. The rest of the space and experience was so great, we were surprised and disappointed by the design of the booths. Not only was the space between the table and the seat exceedingly narrow, but that combined with the general design forces the diner to sit at erect attention for the whole meal, no room for any kind of a slouch - not very comfortable, relaxing, or inviting. We’ll know not to sit in them in the future, but that’s a shame, because we usually love booths. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience.

The food at Cholon is consistently so good. If you are on the fence about the Kaya toast, jump right over it and get it! It's one of those dishes I would never think to order and it is one of the best bites around. The soup dumps and Malaysian noodles are also a must. Our waitress was amazing, as well. I can't wait to go back.

One of my favorite meals ever! They do not talk up the toast enough, so good!! Planning my next trip to Denver just so I can eat here again. Everything we had was amazing: French onion soup dumplings (perfection, better than the best French onion soup or best XLB you’ve ever had), pork belly bao bun it comes deconstructed and the pork belly was crispy amazing, the potstickers had an amazing dipping sauce, pad thai so good and very unique to die for crunchy lemongrass brittle topping. Our server was the best too. Not too noisy.

The cocktails were great and the service was good but the food fell a little short for us. The noodles felt undercooked and our crème brûlée was watery. The items were good but not great, likely wouldn’t seek them out again.

Enjoyed happy hour to celebrate a birthday. Loved the variety of choices. Standouts were the soup dumplings and Kaya toast, although the toast and some of the other items were cold. Mocktails were tasty too. Not quite 5 stars, but would return.

First time, a lot of hype and price around simple small dishes. Okay.
