A Story of bringing the East to the West, written by Chef Jiwoo Choi.
Choi's is a Contemporary Asian restaurant founded by Choi, who was at the time, 23 years old. Voted as the best Korean restaurant by San Diego Magazine, Choi's brings creativity and intensity by carrying their classic menu as well as a rotating Weekly Menu. Choi's Happy Hour highlights $1.50 Fresh Oysters, $5 Bao Tacos, $7 Specialty Cocktails, $5 Beers, to name a few. With their two hour complimentary parking garage validation in the heart of Downtown, even during Padres Game Days, it is the perfect place for your comforting yet exciting evenings. Answer these personal questions and have a unique dinner come to life in front of you and up to three additional guests at the iconic "Oval." What was your favorite childhood meal? When was the happiest moment of your life? What is your occupation, and what do you love and hate about it? What does your ideal vacation look like? How would you describe your clothing style? What is a life goal you have? Choi's promises a full secrecy on the answers given for the questions. We are excited to be creative within your life story. We are excited to write this story with you. *The story/dinner will be based on the "head," "host," or the "main guest" of the table.

    Every time we come to Choi’s we are impressed by the service they provide. The whole team is very attentive and show great attention to detail in making guests feel welcomed. Our experience with their food is just as great. I highly recommend trying their prawns and galbi. But my favorite dish is their Korean crispy chicken! Although I wish they served liquor, they make it up for it with very well curated soju based cocktails. Overall, this place is a gem!

    The food was amazing! Had reservations and got seated 20 min after our reservations. Couldn’t get water because their dishwasher was broken. Ordered 7 plates and they all came out individually. Took about 15 min to get our check.

    Food is always good here; however, the service fall short …very short this time. The waiter took my empty glass of coke away and never brought it me a refill or ask me for another drink. We wait for almost 40 mins for our main courses. The funny thing was the manager and the waiter passed by our empty table, noticed our empty table multiple times, and both of them looked away and did nothing. If the kitchen is backed up, as least come by and say something?!?! We were about to walk out then the food came. Then of course, we needed to pay extra for the parking cuz we went over two hours.

    We celebrated birthday dinner at Choi’s, the experience was amazing! We felt like at home while travelling far away!!! We are so happy we made this choice!!! Chef Choi and crew were very friendly and professional and more felt like staying with close friends!

    Without a doubt the best meal we’ve had in San Diego so far! The food was inventive and delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the service was excellent. The chef/owner even came out to talk to us and served several dishes personally! Would give this restaurant 6 stars if possible….

    Everything about Choi’s is done with the highest level of professionalism, creativity and care. This is one of the best restaurants in San Diego. The food is high quality, authentic but inventive. The drinks are unique and crafty. Choi puts personal attention into every detail. Even the parking (under ground, around the corner) is validated for your convenience.

    Great food and great service. Early seating made for a quiet start but the restaurant filled up by 8pm. No issues, I’d recommend and go again.
