   Amazing dinner and our waitress, Haily, was exceptional. Every dish we tasted was prepared beautifully and delicious. The beef cheeks were something I’ll dream about for a long time. Would love the recipe. Library room is so quaint and fun to watch the chefs.

   The spinach salad was excellent, and the harvest soup was absolutely phenomenal—perfectly balanced with incredible flavor. My husband’s steak was cooked to perfection, and the fresh, crisp salad greens were a delicious complement. Highly recommend!

   Chives is one of the best dining options in Door County. It’s in an old, unique building with several dining spaces. We went on a Sunday night right after the Packers game and were worried it would be empty but they were still about half full. That’s a rare thing in Wisconsin during or after a game unless you have several tvs on the wall! The food was great as usual. I ordered the crab cakes but suspect I got the appetizer version instead of the entree. Other than that, the service was great. We will keep going back when we’re in Door County.

   We had dinner at the bar. Tom, the bartender is great: personable, smart, makes a great Manhattan. I had a delicious vegetarian meal. My husband had steak with sides. The food was so good. And we like to sit at bars.

   The dishes served at Chives are creative and delightful! The service is excellent. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. Definitely make a reservation!

   Our waiter was amazing! John V. deserves recognition, he took the time to explain dishes, the specials and even went into detail on oysters, what comes with them, and how the sauces incorporate into eating the oysters. It was my first time eating one and I’m glad it was with John’s explanations. The experience was top notch. A friend of mine and I were there celebrating my birthday, we shared the chive trio for an appetizer, I have to say the cold smoked salmon hit another level!!! The crab cake was pretty good along with the wontons. For the entree, I had the beef cheeks and oh my were those amazing too. Granted I could only consume half my entree from being full, John was able to get the remainder boxed up so I could take it home. The only thing I do have to say that was a down fall, was when making a reservation, the website allowed you to pick a time up to 8:45 pm (15 minutes before it says they close) and closing time is at 9pm. However, that night we went they were still very busy at 9 pm. We did take our time eating and left the restaurant around 9:30/9:45 pm.

    I do wish that restaurants would instruct servers to provide the prices of specials which aren't on the menu. It can be a bit embarrassing to ask for the prices when you're with other people, but it certainly is a relevant item for many folks.
