About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Neighborhood gem
Looking for the best steakhouse restaurant in Glasgow? Welcome to Chateau-X in Finnieston, where we serve premium British-sourced steak without the premium price tag. Known for our legendary Chateaubriand Experience, Steak Frites from 12pp, and Glasgow's Best Sunday Roast, we’re all about top-quality cuts, bold flavours, and a laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere.

We are vocal about being local, and are famous for our premium dry-aged cuts, sourced from local suppliers, and our vibrant atmosphere.

Born out of lockdown, we took a luxurious chateaubriand experience to homes across the UK. Growing our offering throughout lockdown saw demand for us to increase so much, we knew we couldn't stop when life resumed to the 'new normal' - with our official restaurant in Glasgow West End opening in 2021.

Our mission is simple - bring top quality British sourced meat and produce to our community, with a bit of banter on the side. So, what are you waiting for?

Kids meal same size as adults meal on Mother’s Day menu. 1 kid charged as an adult. Portion sizes terrible for the money. Had to ask for a receipt as server only told us the bill.

Disappointed in Mother’s Day lunch. Had to ask for cutlery for the starter as no knife provided. Sent back 3/4 roasts as meat was tough and fatty with cold veg. Replacement only marginally better. Desers acceptable not not amazing. As a returning customer i was very disappointed in the quality of the food. Definitely not worth the £185 imcl 1 drink each for 4 people . We won’t be returning

Ribeye steaks were rather poor and chewy, but side dishes pretty good. Price at £20 for a large glass of wine was simply outrageous. One of the poorest steak restaurants I've been to I'm afraid. Wouldn't recommend.

Asked for a medium rib eye but came out rare. Steak a bit chewy. Waitress forgot to serve us drinks.

The setting is really nice although perhaps a bit cramped. There was an unusual earthy smell but not sure if thats where we were sat or if it was thoughout the restaurant. Staff were pleasant but service seemed slightly disjointed, we sat quite a while before being asked if we wanted a drink then were asked again before we had received them. We also had other peoples food and drink brought to our table more than once. We were in somewhat of a rush to go to a show so we ate pretty quickly but were told the table was needed in 10 minutes before we were even offered a dessert. The couple next to us were also asked for their table back before they had even received the desserts they had already ordered and they arrived after us. It wasn’t all that clear that you don't get long with the table. Food and drink wise, the steak was an excellent cut, mine was well cooked although slightly under seasoned. My brother had the same steak and his was slightly under the medium cook he asked for so some of the fat was chewy and he said it was very salty. The prawns in the starter were cooked to perfection but the other starters of the Frickles tasted greasy and the bread had pieces of tin foil stuck on but tasted fine when removed. We were brought a different Sangiovese than the one advertised on the menu but it was nice enough. There were enough positives for me to revisit here but it would feel more like a last chance than an excited return unfortunately. I'd still recommend trying it for yourself!
