Focusing predominately on fresh local seafood with a French, Lowcountry flare, Charlie’s is the place for good food, good wine and unforgettable memories all enjoyed in a quaint French country atmosphere.

A Savannah native, Charlie Golson’s interest in the French language and culture took him to Paris. After a long stint in the fast paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, he was ready to move back closer to home. It was at that time he was able to open up a one room French bistro. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is hand written daily. Resort Casual.

Our server Amanda was fabulous. The food was very good. However, the temperature in the restaurant varied greatly! The room we were in was so cold that they brought us blankets. It negatively impacted the experience.

Everything delicious, lovely and charming, as always. We had to take a piece of caramel cake home with us. Too good to pass up even though we were too full for dessert! Thank you to Charlie’s Staff for a most pleasant evening!

Extensive quality wine list but be sure to confirm the vintage. Primarily seafood with local fish clearly identified. Servings ample. Service exceptional. Parking is limited. We parked next door where lot is labeled private.

My wife is Celiac gluten free and Charlie’s accommodated her diet restrictions. She loved the experience! Everything was great! The service was excellent. Our waitress had a wonderful sense of humor and was delightful. We were seated promptly in a booth we requested. The wine list was extensive. We started with a glass of Prosecco and got a nice bottle of French Rose. The menu had a full variety of appetizers, fish and meat options. They change their menu daily. The filet was perfectly prepared! The fish with scallops was delicious. The dessert were very nice. We will return and highly recommend it.

We have been full time Hilton Head residents for over 27 years. Charlie's has been our favorite year in & year out. Always the best food & service on the island. Their menu changes daily & having a selection of several fresh fish choices on the dinner menu is wonderful. Today, Michele was our amazing server at lunch, anticipating our every need.
