Focusing predominately on fresh local seafood with a French, Lowcountry flare, Charlie’s is the place for good food, good wine and unforgettable memories all enjoyed in a quaint French country atmosphere.

A Savannah native, Charlie Golson’s interest in the French language and culture took him to Paris. After a long stint in the fast paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, he was ready to move back closer to home. It was at that time he was able to open up a one room French bistro. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is hand written daily. Resort Casual.

Excellent service We all had fish. Sheephead, Red fish and swordfish. Entrees came with small salad, scalloped potatoes and green beans. Would go again

We had a wonderful time last night. The service was fantastic (Melanie took care of us throughout the evening), and the food was phenomenal. We had the flounder, redfish, fish and sheephead fish for dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted outstanding. Appetizers were the pate and esgargots and both were so delicious. Overall my family and I had a great evening. Thank you!

More than a meal, it's a dining experience. Easily the best restaurant on the Island. I wish they had one in Atlanta. It is so good that I book my reservations here before I even look for a hotel. I'll change my vacation dates if needed to make sure I get to dine here.

We have visited Charlie's previously but this was our first time dining in the bar. Very intimate with a full menu and a bar menu. The food and service was excellent as usual but our evening was made by the friendliness of the staff and especially so by Anthony our server. We felt like family and Charlie would be proud.

The roast pork was so tough and dry…no taste either. I should have sent it back. Service from Anthony was outstanding! Atmosphere great too!

The food was excellent, as usual. The service was excellent. The noise level was beyond tolerable. Could not hear what anybody at our table was saying. The restaurant needs to address this problem.
