The Charcoal Steak House is an independent local steakhouse serving the Waterloo region community for over 65 years. Enjoy AAA Steaks, richly marbled wagyu, slow roasted prime rib, fresh seafood, mouth-watering pig tails, legendary smoked ribs and more. At lunch we feature an extensive menu with burgers, sandwiches, bowls and healthy salad choices.

Sundays are made for Brunch from 9:00am - 1:00pm.

Our Martinis Bar with summer patio offers the full Steak House menu or light meals in a more casual setting. Enjoy appetizers, a full meal, 20 beers on tap and beautiful outdoor seating area in summer.

    Food and service did not disappoint. Servers were able to accommodate dietary restrictions and navigate the menu to best advise on food choices. Beef wellingtons are a favourite and I order in repeat and each time I am delighted.

    We enjoyed a nice Christmas meal with close friends at Charcoal. Caitlyn did an excellent job as our server and was friendly, polite and attentive. The food was really tasty and I really enjoyed the beef wellington. It was a very pleasant way to celebrate the holidays.

    We were here for a birthday celebration. The service was great and the food was very good. A bit on the saltier side but that’s just personal preference. Overall good experience

    Have loved the Charcoal for years. Been many times. Last night just seemed a little off. Our server must have been having a bad night and didn’t smile and wasn’t very helpful. It was enough that even our guests commented to us about it. The food was mediocre. I commented that it was missing something, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Hey, I love a great steak and was looking forward to it, but it was just ok. Will I go back? Yes. But I’ll probably try somewhere else first.

    Great food & energy! Our server was excellent - so friendly & helpful. We were celebrating my friend's bday & it was so wonderful that she got a free dessert of her choice! I forgot my cell at the restaurant & they even tried to call me, to return it & when I came back to get it, they of course had it. It was a fantastic experience & I would highly recommend Martini's to anyone! :)

    Our dining experience was very pleasant at Martinis, the food is always fantastic, with many gluten-free options,. Our server was very slow, forgot to bring soy sauce as requested for the meal as well as left us sitting for about 30 minutes before bringing the bill.
