From the OpenTable editors: Few places do Spanish food as well as this cozy Gramercy restaurant serving some of the city's best tapas since 2003. Star chef Andy Nusser makes the food he grew up eating in Spain, and dishes like garlicky razor clams, delicate bone marrow, and creamy scrambled eggs with uni have helped the restaurant score a MICHELIN star and a coveted three-star review from The New York Times.

Casa Mono is quaint and cozy. You are so close to the people around you that it would be impolite not to start a conversation. It was through this conversation that we got two recommendations. Since it is a tapas bar and it was two of us, we were advised to get four to six dishes. We opted for six, which included the sardinas fritas, pulpo, skirt steak, duck breast, braised oxtail, and the brussel sprouts. When I say everything is delicious, I mean EVERYTHING! However, I did have a favorite. Believe it or not, it was the brussel sprouts. I think I can honestly eat it every day for the rest of my life! I can't remember what the dessert was called that I had, but it was with ice cream, a chocolate ganache, and some kind of cookie. It was light but also decadent. Also, keep in mind the vast array of wines to choose from, but the sommellier is right there to assist. It was truly a lovely experience, and we are already planning to go back.

We sat in the "outside" area. It's freezing in NYC. First reservation in the afternoon. No one thought to light up the heaters before we show up (to a reservation they charge a cancellation fee for). We had to ask twice. Us freezing didn't seem to be a priority.

Casa Mono is an old mainstay for us and have been here many times. While we know it’s crazy expensive - always get moneys worth. We had 10 tapas and a bottle of rioja - $500 BUT 2 of the tapas were barely edible. With a price tag of $35 for a couple frozen and rubbery razor clams and $38 for old inedible lamb belly - of course I’d expect so much more. Bright side - pig ears and sweetbreads were brilliant - wine excellent and rest were delicious. Maybe chalk it up to bad night but for that kind of $ - hard to use that as excuse.

BIG shout out to the Casa Mono team for finding space for us inside after we booked an outdoor table and asked to be moved.

My second visit to Casa Mono. The food was exceptional and my family enjoyed it very much. Our server provided the best service. He took the time to explain the menu and provided very good recommendations. Will definitely return.

Gran experiencia en un restaurante que conocimos hace 4 años y que mantiene su buen nivel. Desde un sencillo pan con tomate a un sofisticado foie gras, los 6 platos que probamos merecen la nota máxima. Buen servicio, amable e informado. Carta de vinos españoles con precios razonables.
