We spent the weekend at the Shnagri-la for a birthday experience. We dined at more than one place during the weekend, but Cafe Mix was certainly the highlight among them all - certainly did not disappoint. We were a party of 5, and all enjoyed the experience immensely. Every individual dish from the array of prawns, Balmain bugs, oysters to the chocolate desserts and Creme Brule was fresh, sushi being made right before your eyes and very fresh. the furniture decor is modern, and very clean.

Advertised and priced as a Malaysian Food Festival but very few Malaysian dishes available. No roti. No Char kuey teow. No noodles at all in fact. The quality of all the food was exceptionally good, especially desserts. But overall very disappointing as an opportunity to try Malaysian specialities, especially given the high price.

A good quality restaurant with great food. However, at $85 per person, you would expect complimentary tea and coffee. The tables could be spaced apart more.

We were so disappointed... We were excited to celebrate a birthday at Cafe Mix as they had the Malaysian food festival on. Unfortunately we weren't too impressed with the meal options and found it to be poor value. Kids were $27.50 each and all they ate was the rice and chicken broth... The curries all had lovely flavour but I wouldn't say anyone ate $55 worth of food... The 1 noodle dish option was hard and cold. Soft drinks and tea/coffee wasn't even included! Won't be back.

I was excited to try the Tastes of Malaysia food there. It is a compliment to say I was very extremely disappointed with quality and variety.Price was $ 55. The Tastes of Malaysia consisted of only 3 dishes . They had tasteless Beef Rendang, chicken Curry and dry Lamb Numa accompanied by some dried vegetables curry in 4 plain small white containers as you would find in a cheap take away shop. Not sign of fish or Malaysian specialities. Just a Robbery and a total ripoff for canteen food. Tx Shang

The food was excellent and the service was as well. My wife is gluten-free and the chef came to our table and advised my wife that he would prepare a dish for here--if that's not excellent service, I don't know what is.

The whole experience was good. It didn't wow me unfortunately and the Szechuan food was pretty average. The best bit was the seafood such as prawns and oysters which were pretty fresh. Service was very good and the wait staff were very friendly and helpful.
