About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighborhood gem
  • Charming
The Café Brio, located in Victoria, has been a local favorite for twenty six years, serving up a rustic, Italian inspired menu. Focusing on regional products, Café Brio led by multi awarded Chef Sam Harris selects the highest quality ingredients from local sources to be used in authentic, creative dishes.

At Café Brio, everything is prepared in house. Pasta favorites include gnocchi with roasted leeks, parmesan cream and basil purée, Spaghettini with tomato, garlic, basil, olive oil and parmigiano and also our wild mushroom risotto. From the Sea enjoy seared scallops with peroxides, delicata squash, carmelo and bacon anchovy vinaigrette or our local fish feature. Lastly the Parry Bay Lamb feature from our friends out in Metchosin is an absolute must.

The wine list is extensive with input from multiple Sommeliers on staff always excited to share their new favourite bottle in our unique and cozy dining room.

Excellent food, a bit challenging with waiter at beginning, but it improved. Kitchen is the strongest in all of Victoria, glad they are taking over Brasserie, another great restaurant.

We sat at the end of the Bar next to the wall. The noise level was ok. The Bar Tender /serving person was exceptional.

Unbelievably good food, excellent service. Excellent wine suggestions. Our reservation was for 5:15 and our table was quiet until 6:45 when the restaurant filled.

Cafe Brio offers half size and full size plates for its main dishes. This is a great thing for those who prefer a lighter meal, or want to save room for dessert

Food was very good - scallops cooked perfectly but we thought the sauce was a bit heavy for the dish. My friend found the spiced crumbs on the salad way too hot. Good but not in a rush to come back.

The service was outstanding, and wine pairing is excellent. The lamb was chewy, other than the rib which was delicious. The roast duck breast was a wonderful taste adventure, and the presentation was unique, and delightful. We will return, and select different menu items, to continue our taste adventures.
