   Meh. We often come here before a show at the Basie, normally on busy weekends, and the food and service had always been memorable. On this Monday night our server seemed more than bothered to have us and was short with my request for spinach. His support staff though was attentive. My steak was cooked nicely, delish & hot but my mashed and veggies were room temperature. We were in a rush to get to a show at the Basie and waited a lengthy time to order, for our sodas, and for him to clear our plates (eventually done by someone walking by, not him). It was frustrating because I watched him for long stretches of time standing feet away from us, with no awareness. Thankfully the food had come out very quickly. We asked the support person to get the check and coffee for us, and then we waited 5 -10 minutes for our server to come over to be surprised that we needed the check. By that time we had to forgo coffee & dessert. We were not dressed elegantly, as we were there to see a Gene Simmons show and it makes me wonder if that was the reason. In any case, it normally is a great place with great food. This experience was the exception to the rule.

   Buona Sera is one of my favorite restaurants when in the Red Bank area or at the Count Basie theater. Service is always excellent and this trip was no different. Food is consistently delicious.

   Old school Italian restaurant - lively on a Tuesday night. Portions are giant - not sure anyone can finish what they bring. Service was exceptional. Fried calamari was very tender and accompanying sauce flavorful and full bodied. Caeser Salad had a good dressing and plenty of anchovies, but lettuce was cut or shredded randomly and not at the level for a restaurant of this calibre.

    We came in after a show at The Basie Theatre. They were close to closing the kitchen so they were a little hurried to get our orders. The food was great but be aware...portions are HUGE. We took leftovers home and it is still enough for another two meals (I'm not kidding). Would go again.
