I went for lunch with my kids and they sat us at the darkest and emptiest place in the restaurant, even though there were free tables on the nice, well illuminated part of it. I needed my flashlight to read the menu in the middle of the day. Host said there were no other free tables, when they were clearly lying. The must not like kids. Be warned

We enjoyed the food and drinks, original menu for both. Temperature, flavor seasonings were great, however we had a 8:45 table on Saturday. We all noticed our waitress at the table was inattentive and at times missing from the floor. I specifically noticed that she avoided eye contact at least twice as she passed our table. Not sure what that was about, but the remaining staff helped to cover her, they all were nice and responsive for our group overall. Maybe she had predetermined her 20% was included automatically so she could pace herself, not sure what it was. But everyone else who worked with her was pleasant and helpful. I just wish we could have directed our $200/tip to the ones who made the effort. The Bartender stood out to me she made great drinks, great conversations and even visited our table throughout the night. Unfortunately she wasn’t our food server. Salads came out with entrees, hard to order drinks at the table, our Birthday guest brought some wine to share, but the waitress was hard to find to open the bottles. I hope she was just having a bad day, because if not for her the entire dinner would have been awesome! Let’s hope that was just her bad day and most days she is just as attentive as the rest of the staff. Overall we would return, but maybe earlier and maybe eat at the bar, or at least with another wait staff member.

Drinks were mostly ice. Pork chop which costs $55 was overcooked and 1/3 fat. Easily the most overrated restaurant I have been to in many years.

The breakfast Sandwhich is one of the tastiest I’ve had in the Bay Area. This is a unique gem, highly recommend.

Hugely disappointed. Ratings are based on food and slightly on service. We invited a friend for her 60th birthday. I had little to eat all day in anticipation. Both our friend and myself ordered the Fried Chicken (2 small pieces). When it arrived, I noticed right away areas of black on the skin, figured it maybe stayed in the fryer or pan a bit too long. I looked at her plate and saw the same. Majority of skin was inedible - too hard, couldn't bite through it. The white meat chicken was dry and not flavorful. I had to pour the honey over the meat so it was edible. Who wants sweet Fried Chicken? The sides, a small piece of cornbread and coleslaw, tasted and looked like a 4 year old made them. Cornbread was super dry (the honey didn't help) and the coleslaw was a lifeless gray color (I know it was pickled) and left so much to be desired. Our server never came by to ask how everything tasted, only to ask if she'd like another drink. I think he knew the chicken was nowhere worth $28 and actually was ashamed. My husband ordered the Seared Yellow Fin which was meh. Nothing special at all for $45. I didn't complain to the server about the meal because I didn't want my friend to feel bad but my disappointment was apparent. We will not be back. Maybe the head chef and crew need to eat some of those dishes that are coming out of the kitchen (for sure the chicken) and rethink the recipes and cooking methods. Not worth your money or time.

Chose Bull Valley Roadhouse for a family dinner, and was delighted! Their food selections, from a seasonally varying menu, are always excellent, as are those INCREDIBLE cocktails!. Their mixologist has a flair for some wonderful libations. The staff could not have been more attentive, and despite having a full house on a busy Saturday holiday weekend, they didn’t rush us out the door when we finished. When out of town company visits, we love to share this funky slice of heaven with them! Bravo!

I love this restaurant. But this time the food was mediocre, the service was spotty and the little things I’ve always appreciated were missing. Cocktails went to the wrong person, four of us were served way before the last person received their food, and the Mac and cheese was so overdone, we had to send it back, which we have never done at this restaurant. It’s a trek for us to get here. It was not worth it this time.
