ENJOY THE BUZZ OF BROWNS ANY TIME OF DAY The Browns building in Bristol is modelled on the Doge’s Palace in Venice and was once part of the outstanding Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. It was restored to its former glory in 1992 and is now very much part of the landscape. Bristol is a city of bridges, boats and beautiful churches with the stunning Georgian Queen Square at the centre and the world famous Clifton Suspension Bridge on the cliffs of the Avon Gorge. So come and join us at Browns for a great atmosphere, delicious food, sparkling fizz and cool cocktails!

The ambiance is great, though we thought the service was very lacking -- our waitress seemed baffled at every request and was rigid about substitutions and seemingly simple additions (like adding bacon to an order of pancakes). We might have been alright with that if not for the steep bill. Lovely setting but not in a hurry to return.

We love Browns but on this busy Saturday night our mains were not up to par with the standard to which we are familiar when we visit Browns. My steak was undercooked and the replacement was overcooked (I asked for medium). My partner’s salmon fillet had bones inside that were not removed. However the management genuinely apologised, offered us complementary drinks, and brought out fresh mains that were honestly cooked to perfection. We will return; many thanks to the staff for making the best of our visit.

Table was very small, felt very squished and rushed, small things like not enough cutlery or water glasses, dedpite the restaurant not being busy. However, the food was nice, we each enjoyed our meal choices, I wouldnt head back in a hurry, but it was alright!

Can’t really comment on brown as opentable confirmed my reservation which wasnt confirmed by brown who rang me on the day to tell the table was not available which ending with me having to cancel all my plans as it was to late to book any where else
