About this restaurant

  • Good for groups
  • Great for happy hour
  • Great for creative cocktails
Briny Swine Chicago is a seaside-inspired smokehouse and oyster bar in the heart of Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood featuring Carolina-style barbeque, seafood and Lowcountry classics, served with a side of sass. It’s a local joint where friends and family gather to laugh and forget about life in the big city while they get in on some Southern hospitality and good eatin'. Rosé, bourbon, cocktails and beer are aplenty...and on a steady flow.

Whether you’re on vacation, passing by after a long day of work or catchin’ the big game, Briny is that place where all are welcome, from all parts, and no one cares about the rest.

Y’all, leave your worries at the door, take a seat, enjoy fine swine, wine and oysters while listening to the sweet sounds of rock, blues, jazz, bluegrass and honkey tonk.

We’ll take care of the rest.

Understaffed all around, wait time for food and drinks slow. Everything was salty. Bbq ribs and wings reheated and had a shiny glaze like they were reheated in a deep fryer, not fresh, terrible. Oysters Rockefeller looked cooked but cold, must be frozen and not heated through. Corn bread had horrible smell. Basically all the food was inedible. Overcharged for food with discretionary pricing from bartender. Had to dispute our check with owner. Would not go back.

Great atmosphere, busy so service was very slow (but they paid for our first round of drinks as an apology), was satisfied with the food and it was reasonably priced for the quality of the food! Will be returning :)

They got off to a rough start last year, but they’re doing so much better now! The food was outstanding, service was great.

Sauces were great but the brisket was undercooked by bbq standards and the corn bread was cold. The server was quick and prompt was a friendly personality. I will definitely give it another try everyone has bad days.

Overall, the food and space is great. We went on St. Patrick's weekend so the space was extremely busy and loud. However, our server make sure to check on us and make sure we had refills when needed. I ordered the Lobster roll with mac n'cheese - delicious!
