Yes, it's a family place, busy as heck, and yes, nonna greets you at check-in, after a bit of searching for our reseervation (we were a bit late). But the undertone is 100% corporate slickness, like the unsettling background vibe in a suspense film. First hint? The fill-to marks etched into every wine glass. Food & Drink Report: Cocktail: Absolutely the worst so-called Negroni I've ever had. The color of watered-down Aperol, without a hint of Campari or gin flavor. Watch Stanley Tucci's video on how to make a proper Negroni, please, I beg you. Appetizer: The Black Mediterranean Mussels (nduja sausage, white wine, marinara, gorgonzola crostini) was stupendous, over a dozen mussels with a sauce full of flavor in all dimensions. The gorgonzola crostini were massive, covered edge-to-edge with cheese crumbles. Definitely worth a trip to get this again. Main: Canneloni (crêpes, sausage, pork, soppressata, alfredo cream sauce, mozzarella) were OK, though without much flavor in either sausage or sauce. A nice portion I couldn't finish, and this is where the second corporate alarm bell rang: I asked the server to throw a splash of the mussels sauce on it and she froze, as if she couldn't conceive of doing so, telling me "I'll have to ask my manager." (OMG, what's the SKU for the up-charge for that????) I did get a splash of marinara, though not the nduja-laced sauce from the mussels -- and no up-charge. Dessert: They comped a slice of tiramisu for my wife's birthday, per the reservation on OT. Nice gesture, and the cake was OK. Bottom line: Nice place, will go again, this time forewarned on the good, the bad, and the it's-OK dishes. But not my first choice in Tucson family-run Italian restos.

The cannelloni had sausage of questionable quality. The rum baba has no rum in the syrup and its filling is made with vanilla pudding instead of zabaglione. The eggplant rollatini appetizer and the coffee were very good. We sat at the bar section where the guests sitting at the table next to us were talking and laughing so loudly, we could not have a conversation at our own table.

Excellent quality from appetizers to desserts, good selection of menu items. Knowledgeable and attentive service. Only negative is that it is a bit loud, but otherwise a very enjoyable meal. Weather permitting a nice patio is available

We’ve been here several times and always have a good experience, but our waiter David last night was exceptional. Friends joined us and were also impressed with the food.
