High quality neighborhood dining. Not 'chicken as usual, chicken". Very nice experience

While everything was "fine" -- the food, service, the ambience -- nothing was better than "fine" -- no spark or pizazz that would make us want to return.

I enjoyed my meal overall. Considering we were there at 4:30 and we were only allowed 90 minutes to eat seemed a little bit odd considering we were the only ones there Service was friendly, but we felt a little rushed with the appetizers. They came at once we ordered the tuna tartare, which was excellent, foie gras good but too much on the sauce, and the beet salad, which was delicious. The lobster was flavorful, but it looked like they used a southern type But not entirely sure. I ordered the lamb chops and I requested to be medium rare and it came out as well done. Although I appreciate the correction and I had the most amazing lamb chops, it was an entirely different lamb chops than the one that was initially served. Here’s what I don’t understand if we’re the only ones there and we order a $45 dish. I expect that to be perfect. We got this cute valentine raspberry mousse, which was very delightful.

The chicken skewers were very good. I ordered the linguine with pesto and shrimp. What they call "linguine" is not that at all. The it is a thick, cross-section round pasta that was too heavy. The pesto appeared to be made with a cream sauce, also too heavy, and leaving little of the basil flavor. And, the shrimp, of which there were a good amount, were overcooked. Overall a gluppy dish. The good thing was that, after I asked about the supposed linguine and our server claimed that it was "what [they] call linguine", they took that dish off our bill. The right thing to do, which we appreciated.

We arrived to find our party of four was the only table between two large private parties in this small space. They should have asked us if we wanted to cancel in advance. Very awkward experience. We had brought guests and had to scramble to find another place.

We were there for a long time (maybe an hour after ordering) and people who came after us were receiving their meals before us. We couldn't get the attention of our waitress and had to ask another waitress about our food. After asking her it came 5 minutes later, but one person's food was undercooked, another overcooked, and the other two were fine but nothing special. They did give a free appetizer and a dessert as an apology, but it was over overpriced.

The foie gras and caviar blinis were spectacular. The shrimp pesto was disappointing and the Bronzino was only OK. The next table ordered lamb chops, and it looked very good. We will be back but next time order different main courses.
