New to the hotel is Birdies Café & Bar. Named for and inspired by Texas socialite and First Lady of 36th President, Lyndon B Johnson, Claudia Alta "Lady Bird" Johnson. ‘Lady Bird’ was a nickname bestowed upon Ms. Johnson when a family nurse said she was “pretty as a Lady Bird”. First Lady Johnson is well known for her altruistic endeavors to beautify the outdoors in her home State of Texas, as well as in Washington D.C., while her husband was president. With the floor-to-ceiling windows that bring our ground’s lavish greenery inside, guests enjoy views of our two pools and lake. Birdies also features outdoor dining and will encourage guests to gather, collaborate and socialize.

We went to Birdie's on Thanksgiving and sat in Jennifer's section. She was outstanding. We went back to Birdie's at Christmas and asked to be seated in Jennifer's section. She was terrific!! Very attentive, helpful and full of Christmas cheer. She put our experience over the top. Thank you again Jennifer. We appreciate you!!

We had reservations for 2:00 and were not seated until 2:35. The prime rib was just ok, the shrimp and oysters were tasteless, and breads were cold and stale. The whole experience was lackluster and incredibly overpriced for the value ($79 per person). No drinks except water and tea were included. Two bloody Mary’s and a glass of wine were $58. Will not be going back. There are too many other really good restaurants in Houston.

We went to the bar first….then dinner…..all in the same space! Our server was Sierra….and she did an outstanding job job in both areas! We were there almost 3 hours…..bar with appetizers….then on in to the dining area…. She had great suggestions for us….and seated us in a quiet area….away from loud children! Our RedFish entree was excellent…… it was our 52nd anniversary and she comped our yummy Pecan Pie! Great evening!

We had a wonderful breakfast for 8-10 people this morning. Everything was WONDERFUL but there was an event of some sort for a wedding (being held at the hotel,) right in the lobby outside Birdie’s and there were drums and gongs going off, so it was a bit hard to hear one another! The food and buffet were amazing and the service was great!

This is my second time dining at Birdies Resturant. My first visit was New Years Day for Brunch. I loved the omelet that was made for me at the speciality station. The food selections on the Brunch Buffett was just what my taste buds had in mind. On Saturday, Jan 27, I had the pleasure of Laura being my server. She was amazing. She was very personable. My friend and I were very grateful she was our waitress. Her short conversation with us was nothing more than delightful. She is an asset to your Resturant.
