Benvenuto! Opened August 2000, chef/ owner Corbett Monica and his wife, Julie, created this trattoria as an extension of his Nanas dinner table. A place where the neighborhood gathers to dine and enjoy life. Guests become family at our tables, enjoying recipes handed down from our grandparents. Following tradition, we make our sauce with San Marzano tomatoes and use only the freshest ingredients available, just like Nana. Our gravy is so good that we eat it like soup! Neapolitan menu, thin-crust Flatbread pizzas, Pasta, NC Seafood, Chicken, Local Pork. Without a doubt, the best cannoli you will ever taste! Our wine list features all Italian, hard-to-find selections that are a perfect match for our Pasta and Flatbreads. Wine Spectator 2007-2024. Local art is on our walls and we play a great upbeat music mix. We welcome you to our business, our culture, our family. It is an honor and pleasure to cook for you.     Let us bring our homemade Italian food to you at your home, office or special event venue. Catering from 10-100 people. Available for staffed, non-staffed, pick up or delivery events. Sundays at our Nana’s house were special. They began when we entered Nana’s house and the smell of the ‘gravy’ simmering on the stove would greet us at the door. Nana would fly out of the kitchen to pinch our cheeks, give us hugs, and lead us to the table full of food saying “mangia, mangia”. Sundays with Nana were days where everything seemed to stop for family and friends; everything except for pasta. Aunts, uncles and cousins would trickle into Nana’s home throughout the day to take their places at the table. The day never seemed to end. We would sit for hours sharing food and laughter with one another. Though the day would begin and end with food, the time spent with our family really made those days special. It is our hope and passion to recreate those long, special Sundays at Nana’s table.

    Usually very good but not great that night and sat outside with no heat very cold, heater was broken Service just ok Prefer sitting inside but was not available Food not as good as other times.

    This is one of my favorite places to eat. I have a Gluten and (not celiac) and I can actually have chicken parm and I get it with goat cheese. It was so good. I highly recommend. I booked last year for my birthday and this year when I booked I didn’t mention my birthday and they still made note of it and celebrated it with me. That was such a pleasant surprise and great service.

    Bella Monica always delivers! A friend and I celebrated our birthdays . . . the staff always makes sure that we feel extra special. This is by far my favorite restaurant for so many reasons. Highly recommended!

    The food was delicious as always but the service was not great - we had to alert our server several times and the food took an overly long time to arrive. This was an unusual experience for Bella Monica.

    Return visit after many years. Have attempted to return earlier but reservations needed and always busy, which is a good sign. Food was excellent and prices reasonably. Wait staff could have been a little more attentive, but were very pleasant. Long gap between salad and entree. Seats at booth need to be replaced, lumpy and uncomfortable. Didn’t find background music particularly appealing, there was a repetitive ‘beat’ for what seemed a rather annoyingly long time. But volume was low so not too bad. So no complaints about food or staff, just feel some improvements in ambiance would make it all the better.

    My husband ordered the lasagna and he cleaned the plate. It was that good. I ordered the squid and shrimp pasta dish. It was good but on the salty side for me. I think the sausage made the dish salty. Overall we enjoyed our visit at Bella Monica.

    Always a wonderful experience all around. We opted to sit outside to take advantage of the cooler weather and it was delightful! Our server was incredible, attentive, fun, and so nice. My eggplant rolatini is my favorite. My husband ordered a pizza and it’s always delicious. We have never been disappointed with the food or service.
