Beatrix is a neighborhood coffeehouse, restaurant and meeting place in Chicago’s River North, Streeterville, Fulton Market and Oak Brook neighborhoods. The restaurant is the brainchild of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ Founder Rich Melman, Executive Partner and Divisional President Marc Jacobs and Chef Partners John Chiakulas, Rita Dever and Susan Weaver. The menu features healthy meets delicious options, and is known for its iconic coffee and bakery counter, including signature cookies, in-house pastry favorites and our house blends from Beatrix Coffee Roasters, featuring Light, Dark, Espresso and Decaf roasts.

The environment was warm and inviting. Six of us enjoyed drinks and various brunch items. The food was very tasty. I had a breakfast burrito, filled with cheesy scrambled eggs, poblanos, black beans. And a side of pineapple. The burgers were thick and juicy on a bakery bun. I would have liked a free, small basket of rolls or pastries to have with coffee

The quality of the food was good, but everything arrived cold, except the bacon. The hash browns were cold, and pretty bland. The toast and eggs were cold. The waffles were cold and the maple syrup was refrigerator cold.

When walking/driving by our assumption was this was a coffee house, thanks to friends we found out this was a very good foodie type restaurant with great coffee!!

The service is always perfect, same with the food. I was with a few older adults and it was just too noisy in there on a Saturday night. Other than that, the experience was perfect.

Made reservations which were available right on time.The waitress asked if we’d been there before, we hadn’t then she gave us a quick post popular items on menu, we start with a fresh drink, Then food came quickly and was display beautiful. Also order some of their famous desserts! Little costly for a lunch, however all was worth it!

The food was good for weekend brunch , but there were too many highly spiced items on the menu for our tastes. The noise level was higher than we would have liked. The ambience was very nice. We’re going to try it for dinner next time.
