   We were not hopeful to start, when our reservation for the second floor was ignored and the server attempted to seat us at the first floor bar. We refused, and he relented but said we could only eat upstairs for an hour and 20 minutes. Which was fine. Once upstairs, our waitress spoke poor English, which worried us because we had people with a severe peanut allergy and a shellfish allergy. We addressed this with each order, but still got peanuts and discovered (upon digging) that all fried foods were fried in the same oil, so some of the things we ordered could not be eaten. The food we got (which took a long time) was delicious though.

   The food was not very good at all. We were very disappointed. Especially since we love Korean food!

   The food was mixed. There were good rolls and average rolls. Great mushrooms. Potato croquettes were fine. Ambience was great. Service was super slow. I will go back.

   We had a celebratory lunch for our family with small kids. Everyone enjoyed it. The food was great, the service - attentive. We were not rushed and our needs were accommodated, although we did not have any special requests. It is a small, nice place with delirious food and yummy drinks.

   I loveeeeeeeed this restaurant. I was originally a little scared to go but I went on a whim for my partner’s birthday. We were seated within 10min of arrival, all the staff were so kind, and the food was delicious! My partner even received a free dessert for his birthday. One small thing that really stuck with me was the greeter remembering and pronouncing my name correctly although I only told him once. Most people will either mispronounce or just skip over my name, but he didn’t and actually took the time to check in after our meal. I will definitely be returning.

   Unfortunately, the service too a very long time and they mixed the order up so we were waiting even longer for our food.

    Barn Joo has grown to become one of our go to places for food and drink on the weekends. High quality food, creative cocktails, nice atmosphere and friendly service. Korean wings are maybe the best in all of Manhattan, IMHO. Highly recommend!
