Greg gave us great service for the excellent food that is served. From the brussel sprouts, crab dip and fries appetizers, to the steak frites, salmon and walleye, the r food was excellent. And don’t forget the double beef smash burger. It had house made American cheese that looks like cheddar but better than cheddar or American.

Bar Pigalle was once our go to for a nice dinner out. Some of our favorite meals of all time were had here. My girlfriend and I both agree that the best dessert we have ever had was at Bar Pigalle. We hadn't been back in a while, so I booked a dinner to celebrate a birthday. We were so disappointed in our dinner, and I want my old Bar Pigalle back! The oysters were the high point of the meal. Perfect. The Red Snapper Crudo is just a flawed dish. The heavy vinegarette and blood orange completely overwhelms the fish. The inclusion of jalapeno is just wrong...another example of a flavor that overwhelms the meal. There is no subtlety at all. The Brussels Sprouts were underwhelming, nothing that couldn't be made at home easily, and too heavy on the maple. The Crab Gratin was fine. We didn't love it, and didn't hate it. Like the Brussels sprouts, I feel like it was just thrown together without much thought. A simple dish with nothing to make it stand out. The Marble Potatoes were a disaster. A pile of baby potatoes dumped on a heap of cream cheese and a bit of ham. When they put the plate down on the table, potatoes rolled around, one fell off the plate. It was something I would expect from a diner. When it was presented it made me laugh a bit, it was so out of place. The creme fraiche was 70% of the plate, and looked like it had been slopped on with a giant serving spoon. It was cold, all of the heat sucked out of the potatoes by the ice cold creme fraiche. The Duck Confit was pretty good. The meat was well cooked, the presentation nice. The sauce was a bit overwhelming for the subtlety of duck, but it was fine. The drinks were good, the bar always being a strong point of the restaurant. The service was great, as usual. It has always been the high point of the restaurant, and we were very happy with everyone who came to our table. We are sad that the quality has dropped. We will likely not return, there are plenty of great restaurants in Detroit.

We were excited about the tasting menu but one person wasn't interested so we ate family style instead. We ordered most of the menu and enjoyed all of it. Service was attentive and helpful. Loved the ambiance. It was a business meal but I would come back solo, for a date night, ect. We really enjoyed our experience and the food. It was our favorite during our time in Detroit.

We had an overall good experience but we thought it was pricey for the food we received. Some things are more worth it than others. What we’d recommend: for entrees: the Ora king Salmon, $46 delicious! Would not recommend the Waygu Steak & Frites $75, it was good but not a $75 dish, overpriced. For apps, we would not recommend the Steak Tartare, the only flavor was lemon juice, we know good steak tartare & it isn’t at this restaurant. (We love it at Lady of the House & the DAC.) The Cavatelli entree was not at all good, bad actually according to my BIL. He had dined there several other times, had the tasting menu etc & the cavatelli was by far his least favorite experience. The sausage as an app was good, the Tartiflette was delicious although a very small serving. Next time, we may go and sit at the bar so we can order their burger, we hear that they are great. They told us on weekdays you can order their bar burger while not seated at the bar, just not weekends. Overall, a fun time, but very expensive for what we received.

Other than waiting 15 mins for our reservation, the Bar Pigalle is an amazing place. The location is in a unique and stunning area of Detroit. The restaurant has a gorgeous setting and decor. Our main server was Eren, but we experienced everyone worked cohesively, which added to the wonderful service we had. The food! The food was absolutely divine. I cannot say enough about it. We will for sure be back when we have more time. Thank you for a lovely evening.
