Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks and a great burger. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12.     The food was very yummy and creative. Overall, the appetizers were good, not great. We all enjoyed our main courses a lot - mostly pasta dishes. My orrichiette with sausage was terrific! It is a little loud with it hard to hear the person diagonally across from me (we were a party of four). Our server was especially wonderful and helpful throughout the meal without ever being intrusive. Overall, I recommend it strongly.

    The food was amazing! Many people recommended this place to me and I will be coming back. Great date night spot or out with the girls! Highly recommend the gnocchi alla vodka. Service is amazing. Chefs kiss all around!

    We were a party of six adults and a two year old. The service was great even before we arrived - they called ahead to be sure they had the right number of seats including a high chair. The food is excellent and we were all family so sharing plates at a round banquet was perfect. Our waiter was knowledgeable and efficient bigger staff were attentive and very pleasant. All in all a wonderful experience

    We went for Sunday brunch and the whole experience was outstanding. I had the Italian Greyhound for a beverage. She had Everything but the bloody. We shared a tuna crudo

    Entire waitstaff acted like we were an inconvenience for showing up for our $75 no cancellation fee’d dinner. Everyone was rude, short, and not hospitable at all. Pasta was a half serving of what’s normal for a single person, absolutely not shareable as advertised. Won’t be back

    Hi Miranda, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your dinner here. We have a veteran team that takes pride in giving excellent hospitality, and this sounds unlike them. Like many restaurants, we have implemented a cancellation policy to reduce last minute cancellations which are damaging in a business with narrow profit margins. We make every effort to communicate and help our guests cancel in a timely manner if plans change, which happens! We also offer gift cards for the value of the cancellation fee. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your pasta. We never want any of our guests to leave unhappy with their meals. It's always best to let our staff know if there is an issue with your food, we would have been happy to remake or replace your dish. Tyler Shapiro General Manager
