To us, BABs is a place for friends, or those who will soon be. BABs is a casual energetic place with yummy food, authentic hospitality, great libations and friendly faces.

We cook ingredient driven food where inspiration comes from our personal experiences or one of the many cultures represented in our area, past and present. Our cooking is inspired by small local farms, using ingredients that are seasonal and raised or caught with care.

New Orleans is our home. It’s a place with an amazing sense of community where we’ve created meaningful relationships, and met extraordinary people along the way. We’re excited to continue feeding visitors and the people like us, who call it home.

I just went to the holiday cooking class and it was fabulous. Cooking for the holidays has always been stressful and I often forget the simple things like gravy and bread b/c I'm trying to get all the large dishes out on time. Today I learned some great dishes that I will be doing this Thanksgiving. Tips on what can be done ahead of time and not take up the entire refrigerator and the items to easily be done the morning of thanksgiving will make this year less stressful. I'm very excited to have some new recipes to share with my family. And this will be my first year that I am actually looking forward to cooking a turkey rather than ordering one.

Decadent luxurious pastas. Perfectly and thoughtfully prepared seafood. Expertly curated wine and cocktail program. Friendly service that always wants you to have your best meal. Nina and Larry have created a true gem.

Absolutely amazing food. We ate at a lot of places while in NOLA, and Bywater had the most interesting and unique flavors. An enjoyable experience - we were dancing in our seats as we ate.

What an amazing experience! Our food was amazing and lived up to the hype. The cabbage salad is life-changing. Our waitress, the one from Wisconsin, was awesome, personable and real. The space and ambience are both comfortably sophisticated. Easily my new favorite restaurant in NOLA and easy to see why the chef received the James Beard Award!

We needed to increase the size of our party at the last minute and move indoors due to a shift in the weather and the restaurant was gracious and accommodating.
