   We have been a few times to Auden and have loved it every time. The service is warm and attentive, the food is consistently delicious and the ambiance is classy and cozy. I also love that the chef changes up the menu with the seasons (while keeping the fan favorites on) and the way he is able to meld tastes and flavors together is perfection. The dessert menu is always on point and their wine selection is quite expansive. This truly is a great place for either a casual get together or an intimate evening. It is no wonder this place is rated as one of the top restaurants to visit in Houston.

   My experience at Auden was fair. I’ve been here once prior back in Feb for a group bday party and it was lovely. However, I could not say the same about last nights experience. Our server was extremely nice and well, but what was a miss was how the food came out. For four meals, the appetizers came out fine, but our entrees was where the problem was. Each meal came out one by one with a good 10-15 mins between them. It was bizarre. The food also came out room temp and by the time all the food presented themselves it was cold. We made a comment about this to the server and he was apologetic and said the kitchen was backed up but he would mention it to the staff but a manager didn’t come by to hear our concerns. Instead our server asked us to leave a negative review so the restaurant would see our dissatisfaction. Which was even more bizarre! I’ve never had an employee ask me to leave a bad review so that the management of the restaurant would listen. Pretty sad if that’s how it is. Anyways don’t think I’ll come back to Auden or recommend it to my friends.

   Service was fine. Server was very nice but food came out a bit slow. And we had to ask for condiments more than once. Food was ok. Was a bit disappointed in steak frites. It was pretty basic and I was looking for a little "wow" b/c it was $42.

   The cocktails were excellent. It was a nice setting.  our server was friendly, but was overwhelmed with too many tables and we languished at times.  The portion on the octopus was ridiculously small, plate was filled with potatoes. Food needed some more pizzazz.

   The location and interior of this restaurant are great. Unfortunately the entrees were not good. We ordered the Bombay elote and milk buns for our starters and loved those. I ordered the shrimp and grits as my entree and it was pretty bad. The dish overall had no flavor. The grits were also over cooked and mushy. On the menu they were described as spiced grits but I don’t think they even had salt in them. I asked for black pepper but they didn’t even help. My husband ordered the steak frites and they were a bit over cooked and underwhelming.

    Food was incredible. Loved the Indian flare to the dishes making them unique. Great service with Oscar.
